I am sick of hearing people defend Favors because he is 19. Stars put up numbers at 19. The Nets need to trade Favors while there are still dummies who write articles saying that Favors is like these others players because he is not. He may end up being a good player but I dont think he will ever be a Star. Believe me, I wanted to think he would be great but if we keep kidding ourselves we will have blown a great chance. He does not have star level athleticism. He just doesnt. He does not have a great vertical leap. He does not have a great motor. He does not have star level passion and hunger. These are not learned skills. These are instincts and physical attributes that should be there at 19 if he is going to be a star. Believe me I am very disappointed about this. It's not like I have something against him. He just is not a star and probably never will be. Someone in a past post compared him to Dale Davis and I think that is about it and he will need to put in a lot of work on his jumper and ball handling to get there. If you do not believe me then take a look at some you tube videos of the above players in there rookie seasons. Look at there raw skills and compare them to Favors and you will see with your own eyes that he just isnt on that level. Again, I am not talking about learned skills. I am talking about in-born physical attributes. Favors has heavy legs and he is slow. Just imagine what happens after he has his first knee injury? The Nets need to trade him for Melo, now. Before it is to late.
I want to say this one more time. If you do not believe me then watch some videos of the above players in there 19 year old rookie seasons. Forget there skill. Just look at there hops and motors and athleticism. Then you come back and tell me he is the same.
I am truly, truly sorry that this is the case but we need to start facing facts.
