My last plea to Nets Management..
Please stop this foolish attempt to try to turn a frog into a prince overnight. It's not going to work. You have all the pieces necessary to gradually build a championship team the old fashioned way: by earning it. Continue to allow Devo, Lopez, Morrow, heck, maybe even Farmar and Vujacic, to develop into real teammates, that are comfortable playing with each other. Keep Favors. Give him minutes and be patient when he struggles. Can you imagine the T-Wolves trading KG, or the Magic trading Superman because they struggled as a rookie?
This Franchise needs to earn respect, not try to buy it. With all of the draft picks they have, they are in prime position to build the team they want at a low cost. This years first rounder is bound to be a top five; I'm not sure Irving will declare because of his injury, but Perry Jones is a 6-11 freak. Imagine him and Favors running the break!? I include a minor trade proposal as well; Hump and D.James(and the pick we got from the Lakers) to Indy for Paul George and Dahntay Jones. If the Pacers remain in the Hunt for the eighth seed they will be looking for another four, and the Nets need a small forward who can score pretty bad. Just an idea. Right now, as a Nets fan i feel totally alienated. Why am I rooting for guys who might be on another team in a few weeks? Does the Nets management really expect anybody to give a crap about this team if it is so obvious they don't? True Nets fans are few and far between; they don't need a big name who's heart is across the river in order to stand by their team. I entreat Proky, B.King, Yormark, whoever...Do it the right way! Don't turn my team into the Mets of the NBA! Grow your own superstars from within, like the Phillies did, and then you will become a destination everyone wants to be a part of.
Thank You,
Mcbubba Esq.

Couple things, first of all they are not trading Favors because of his play, they are trying to get the best scorer in the world for him. It’s not like there are rumors of a ton of different deals for him.
Second, other than our pick this season, you cant expect to get true difference makers in the draft, they are usually top 3-5 picks. Late first round picks are not that valuable.
Not everyone thinks Durant is the best scorer
Maybe he means LeBron or Wade. Or Dirk. Or Kobe.

Actually it’s pretty much a given that Durant is the best “scorer” in the NBA, however not the best “player”. That would go to either James or Kobe. Sorry, no Wade or Dirk in that discussion
Well, mostly I was making a little joke about it not being Melo, but FWIW, Durant has had one year among the best scorers and Dirk has had 10. So he’s in the discussion, at least.

But not in the top 20 as an all-around player.

Howard is not a top 5 scorer.
Official Member of the "DO NOT TRADE DERRICK FAVORS" Movement
James is not a "scorer"
James is a “playmaker”
best pure scorers in the league are Durant & Melo
the thing that stands out with Melo is he score from anywhere, 3, post, 15ft turn & face, jumpshot, take of the dribble. Durants game is rapidly expanding but i think melo is more polished right now.
"pure scorer"
That’s code for “no passing, no D,” right?

This is about Brooklyn
This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn This is about Brooklyn
You can love the idea or hate the idea, but that is the idea, the chief focus of ALL their moves. Prokhorov agreed to at $60 million in losses while in New Jersey for a reason.
