Hamilton: "I Don't Think I Will Ever Play for the Pistons Again"
Richard Hamilton has been to the NBA Finals twice and won it all once with the Pistons. Along with Tayshaun Prince and Ben Wallace, he's the last link to the mid-decade glory days, but he believes his last days as a Piston are approaching along with a trade to New Jersey.
When asked if he will play for the Pistons again, after his second DNP-CD, the man known as Rip replied, "I don't know. I really don't know," he said. "The way it's been going, I don't think so, but you never know. I just say it's one of those things where I stay ready."
Hamilton left no doubt as to whether he wants to leave Detroit, if he has to deal with Coach John Kuester's rotations.
"Do I want to play? Yeah. Do I want to be on the floor competing? Yes. Am I doing that right now? No," Hamilton said.

Reading his teammates reaction to all of this (the fact that he was on the bench) was interesting. If this DOESN’T go through and SOON, no one’s going to want to deal with Denver for fear of the talks ripping their team apart.

Rec'd
Ujiri’s reputation has already taken a big hit before he’s done anything. Denver’s probably been complaining about all the details being leaked because he can’t handle the pressure…and it’s probably been his indecisiveness that caused the leaks in the first place.
God bless Billy King and his patience, this is probably the most annoying process he’s been through as a GM.
Clearly unhappy.
Lots of player in this deal unhappy. Another reason why this deal needs to be completed ASAP.

Has the Rumor that Proky is already in the USA been proven false?
His Gulfstream 5 hasn’t flown international. How could he be in USA?
Melo is supposed to have a final mtg. with Nuggets FO tomorrow first.
You want a link to prove that Proky isn't in the USA?
Where is a link to prove that he IS in USA.
The Melo mtg. with Nuggets FO has been mentioned in various places and was just mentioned by Portland announcers.
That is why this may be last chance to make tweets to Melo count.
A Tweet is not going to be what Melo makes his decision on
It will be $, a chance to win and/or a chance to play in NY (manhattan or Brooklyn)

Better use of time than blogging here don't you think?
At least you can feel you did you best. I finished with mine.
How about some others contributing?
Melo will be checking in a couple of hours.
Based on his interview, he doesn’t know very much about Nets.
Melo has already said he will be playing wed
I’m not going to tell you not to do what you do.
that is your choice but as O Dog said Melo is not interested in what a fan has to say.
He wants to be wooed by Proky and others.

Agreed Killa
This is a big move for Melo. If hes coming here, he probably wants to hear how they are going to surround him with talent. Who? How?
Whats different about this franchise versus the one over the past 20 years.
Personally I think hes torn:
Prefers to play for the Knicks…..may have to settle for the Nets.
If we werent moving to Brooklyn we would have 0% chance here. Fact we are moving to Brooklyn is what gives us a punchers chance.

I agree but the dangerous thing is this
we already know that whenever Melo says he will play this game. He will play it.
So now one has to wonder when will Melo be moved.
Last week people kept making predictions. I really starting to think Melo will be moved at the deadline.

From what I have read in Denver Post
Its the ownership in Denver driving the delay. The owner there has not signed off on any of the proposals yet. And from what I read, hes a hard @ss……Problem is he is playing a dangerous game- closer it gets to deadline more in favor for Melo or teams trying to trade him- whether its Knicks, us or another team who is willing to rent him….

Well we’ve also heard that his first game with us could be Friday so it’s VERY possible he could play Wednesday.

Rip will be in town along with Summers and all the Net players. They’d just need to get Melo, Billups and Balkman here.

If the rumor that Proky will get these guys transported to get their physicals to get this done are true, he could play Wednesday and still get it done. It also makes sense for it to happen then because who are they playing Friday? The Pistons.

Will he be playing though? Like they just said, the league office won’t be open on Monday. They HAVE TO get this done by Friday. They’re going to lose a lot of respect around the league. If they deal him anywhere but the Nets now, they’re screwed. Detroit is starting to bicker about this. They weren’t exactly doing well in the first place. Whatever they had going prior to this is up in smoke. They can’t get back to playing with clear heads until this is done. Plus I’m sure they’re talking to other teams about moves. THE WHOLE DAMN LEAGUE is in slow motion until this thing ends!

agreed
the pistons situation is getting deep.
While Melo is still saying he will be a Nugget next week. The Pistons will have to solve their problem soon with or without a trade with the Nets

It would take 2 days to get physicals, so deal would have to be agreed to by Wednesday.
Which means Nets would insist that Melo doesn’t play for Nuggets on Wed.
Which I’m sure they’ve probably suggested. Now whether Denver will abide by that, after what we’ve seen so far they probably won’t, that remains to be seen.

This is so funny
Rip says he will likely never again play for the pistons.
Melo says he will play for the Nuggets wed.
Will Troy Murphy be in the line up Wed

That was one of my notes to Melo - "Brook is Back"
Don’t assume that he already knows that.
Yeah. He’s got to keep this up though.

There should be a separate thread to discuss what the final concession may have to be to get Nuggets to agree to deal...
Besides trying to delay for at least 2 more Nets losses and to hear Melo reject Nuggets again tomorrow?
I would be really upset if I find out that Vujacic, Hump or Farmar need to be traded, or that Nets will forfeit the Houston pick.
I wouldn’t mind having Harrington though, but only for Outlaw. Nets would have to take Balkman too of course.
Better chance of me getting pregnant than Denver taking Outlaws contracty
Me- boy
Outlaw- 35M contract

Harrington+Balkman = $31-38 million...
And Harrington is old and Nuggets want to get rid of both of them.
It is only the Nets weak position that makes it difficult.
They will probably forfeit Vujacic in a separate deal for Harrington.
That’s one option or you could get a fourth team involved.

I don't see any good possibility for Nets, by involving a 4th team.
What to do with Harrington is probably the most important factor holding up a deal.
Nets may have to part with the Houston pick too.
Nets are being held hostage.
Only Melo can save things by doing the bidding for Nets tomorrow.
One of the original deals included Murphy going to Cleveland for their trade exemption. If Detroit doesn’t really want Murphy (he’s just a throw in for cap purposes), maybe you can revisit that.

so i guess chicago should start cooking up a deal then
anyone else watching the game seeing the nets decided to figure out why they call it “rip city” at halftime? do they smoke and drink and pig out on burgers, fried chicken, and pizza at halftime or what?
