There's alot of talk and rumors going around about the Nets pursuing Carmelo Anthony, which could attract Chris Paul to the Nets in the near future. My question is: Why don't the Nets, Nuggets and Hornets try to work something out that will bring both Chris Paul AND Carmelo Anthony to the Nets, right now? Sure each of the elite superstars' teams are in the playoff picture right now, but there's no guarantee that CP3 and Melo will stay with their team in the long run. Perhaps the Hornets and Nuggets should both be thinking about rebuilding while the Nets can start getting themselves shaped up for Prokhorov's 5-year plan which would have them in contention with the other elite teams in the East, competing for a title shot.
I just came off of the NBA trade machine and here's what I came up with:
It would be an 8-player deal that would send Melo and CP3 to the Nets. Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Stephen Graham and 2 future draft picks would go to the Nuggets while Devin Harris, Anthony Morrow, Quinton Ross and a future draft pick goes to the Hornets. All salaries would match and each team would get what they want in return (I assume). Then, the Nets can sign 3 more players to those "pro-rated" contracts for the remainder of the season to have their 13-man roster in tact. I sometimes make a few errors with these trades so if I made an error or 2, help correct them for me. Thanks!! Go Nets!!
