With so many bigs where do we go from here?
I still think we can add some pieces to our team with the free agents still out there, we have so many PF and C's taking up roster spots that probably wont even play.
PF's
Derrick Favors
Sean May
Kris Humphries
Troy Murphy
C's
Brook Lopez
Brian Zoubek
Johan Petro
I still think we can improve and or make a trade with one of these bigs, probably most of them wont even play. Brook will probably get around 35 a game, then Petro around 10. Zoubek probably sitting on the bench. In Power Foward position we have Troy Murphy the one that will start for us but we still need to make room for our rookie favors to play. I doubt Sean May even makes the team and Hump probably getting few minutes if Favors isnt playing well. We have a good roster but so much wasted talent on big men that wont play. I think the Nets should sign some more 1-3's.

good point.
i dont remember when we had a logjam up front before. plus, we might add a training camp invitee big.
(S may has a patial guarantee?)
still, we need to get better at the 4 and 5 either by these guys improving or by adding still more 4s and 5s.
logjam?
it’s not a logjam. Most of those guys won’t play here the same way they wouldn’t play on another team.
when you have 15 players on your rosters, usually 7 of them are big men.
2009-10: 6 big men- Yi, Lopez, Boone, Williams, Battie, Najera(Humphries
2009-09: 7 big men- Yi, Lopez, Boone, Williams, Najera, Anderson, Swift
what's wrong with depth in the frontcourt?
It’s good to have 5 fouls sitting on the bench for those nightmare matchups.
They’re three deep at each position. I don’t see a need to make a trade unless it’s an upgrade in talent.
Easy as this
Brook and Troy will get starter’s minutes. Favors will get a good amount of minutes backing up Brook and Troy. Petro will get all the remaining minutes. Petro will also play the “6 fouls role” – 6 extra fouls against guys like Dwight.
Hump won’t play often unless there’s an injury, and May/Zoub might not even make the team, let alone play. Hump might get traded, too.
Also, agree with universal – there’s nothing wrong with good depth in the frontcourt. That’s a problem you love to have.
Roster Changes?
I don’t expect any significant roster changes. This will be the roster that will start the season. Big men May and Zoubeck are cheap enough, and we got stuck with THE HUMPH. I doubt that any of them will play much. Of those who will play, Petro gets the least amount of time. Brook, Murph,Outlaw,Devin & Morrow start, and Favors, TWILL, Farmar, Petro & James back them up. That’s a ten man rotation. No one else plays, unless there are injuries. I wonder what size green suits Sean & Zoubeck will wear? WOW that’s an awful lot of green material!
Paul from Delray Beach
After reading comments from Nuggets fans, they don't think very highly of Petro, but maybe they just have higher expectations in Denver. I haven't read much positive reviews on Petro and even Mozgov is getting good reviews in Turkey.
If Sean May looks good, he should make team. In worst case, his trade value would go way up the trade deadline, if he really is in his best condition as a pro. May has also played some Center. Nets have committed $100,000 on May, so there is more of a chance he makes team if healthy.
I have doubts about Zoubec, because although he CAN rebound well, his idea of defense amounts to Fouling, based on what I saw in summer league. However, that would be an improvement over Yi, who just let his man get by him. Nets have committed only $50,000 on Zoubec.
This is why I still wouldn’t mind trying to buyout Tiny Gallon’s contract and giving him a try at Nets camp. Gallon would also be cheap, and there likely won’t be room for him on the Bucks.
Nets could also use Gallon as insurance, because if Nets are in lead for Melo, there is a good chance that Two players from Favors, Hump and Muphy will be included in trade, although I hope Outlaw is included, after Dec. 15. After losing either Murphy or Favors or both, Nets wouldn’t be too big at all.
You can be sure that Billy King is thinking the same way and that Favors is what Nuggets are expecting if Nets are to land Melo.
So much for Sean May staying healthy...
… couldn’t even make it to camp.
Lopez, Murphy...
… two rookies and 3 2 guys who have never shown to be better than 4th in a decent big man rotation is not great depth.
Murphy should get a lot of time.
Favors should get least exposed as possible.
World Series attitude, champagne bottle life, nothing every changes so tonight is like tomorrow night.
