O2 Arena, Prokhorov Support Key To London Games

Sergei Kushchenko, Mikhail Prokhorov's key sports adviser, says the availability of an NBA-ready venue and Prokhorov's support are the leading reasons why the Nets will play in London this March. Kushchenko, a former Euroleague director, says the NBA had long wanted to hold games in Europe, but felt none of the continent's arenas were up to NBA standards. That changed when London's O2 Arena was built. His boss "very actively supported" the idea as part of the team's globalization move.
