I just got back from Thailand yesterday, after 3 weeks of no internet.  Looks like I missed a lot!

So Billy King was offering Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Nets 2011, and GS 2012 for Carmelo???  Was there a decent offer before that? Or was that the first?

I think it's absolutely ridiculous.  Denver has NO leverage at all, and Carmelo isn't exactly ideal for our team.  I am not talking about his lazy defense or character or any of that.. but with regards to the balance of the team.  Outlaw becomes a 15 minute man off the bench, and Damion James basically becomes worthless.  We have good balance right now,  if Carmelo breaks the bank and ruins our balance in the process.. I really really don't want him.

I also tend to consider this Carmelo situation like that of Vince Carter back in 2004.  Disgruntled star who was probably the most talented guy in the league, but still needed to "get it".  VC never got it, maybe Carmelo will.  Point is, VC was had peanuts... absolute peanuts.  It was the fact that we could offer 2 draft picks that landed him here.  I am all for sending draft picks to the Nuggets, but if they take the GS pick which is 90% LOTTERY.. they have no business taking our #3 pick in last years draft, nor do they have any business taking our only all star.

I really hope Denver gets shafted.  Kudos to King for putting a deadline on all this cos I'm not sure I would have been able to handle that trade.  If I am King, I won't open any negotiations until Dec 15th.  Lets see what other teams can give Denver.  Probably not much more than Murphy, Hump, James, Nets 2011, GS 2012, and Cash.
