Organization talking out of both sides of their mouth

It is criticizing speculation, I do understand that, but for the sake of it being true there is a problem here.

You have coach Avery telling Derrick Favors he's not going anywhere and he is going to become one of the few dominant special players in the history of the game.

You have ownership doing everything they can to get a bigger star than Amare Stoudemire on the team right now, even if it means trading a very good starting point guard, said Derrick Favors, AND a number one pick.

I understand part of the reason Favors is being bolstered up is probably to increase his trade value, but still, can this team come up with a plan besides 'We need Superstar now! {stomp feet}"

I have been a Nets fan since the Drazen years. My allegiances shifted completely from Boston to the Nets after Reggie Lewis died and the team never felt the same to me. If this team trades Harris, Favors and a #1 for Carmelo Anthony, I'll be more disappointed then I have ever been in the team. It will be the most desperate move I have ever seen the team make, when they are probably in the least desparate situation they have been in the franchises history (No expectations, moving to Brooklyn soon, potentially great 19 year old player, great coach, ownership that wants to win).

Again, it's all speculation, but I hope the Nets aren't being overly aggressive in spite of themselves. They will always have the best package for Carmelo, let's see what the other teams will part w/ first. I would bet dollars to donuts that Devin Harris, Favors, and a #1 is way more than anyone else is offering.

Your thoughts?
