Brook Lopez = Yao Ming 2.0?

An interesting little thing to look at, Brook Lopez's 2nd year in the league is quite similar to Yao Ming's 2nd season.

Brook Lopez:

82 G 82 GS 18.8 ppg 8.6 rpg 2.3 apg 1.7 bpg 0.7 spg 49.9 FG% 81.7 FT% 2.5 TO 3.1 PF

Yao Ming:

82 G 82 GS 17.5 ppg 9 rpg 1.5 apg 1.9 bpg 0.3 spg 52% FG% 80.9 FT% 2.49 TO 3.33 PF

There are quite some similarities to their game in that they're both big men who aren't the most athletic, but have such a complete skill set. Both can do it in the post as well as shoot from nearly the three point line. Both are some of the best free throw shooting centers in the league. Both have some good passing and shot blocking skills.

Interesting thing to note: Yao Ming missed only 2 games in his first 3 years in the league. As good as Brook's track record has been, we still have to be careful with his health, we can't go very long without a competent backup for him.

So, can Brook be bonafide superstar and multiple time allstar? Definitely. Here's hoping his health holds up and he keeps improving on what he has now.
