What the Nuggets and Hornets will want for Melo and CP3?
I see some trade proposals suggesting that the Nets trade Harris, Favors and others to the Nuggets for Melo. What I don't get is that the Nuggets already have Chauncey Billups securing PG. Not to mention, they have Ty Lawson as the potential replacement when Billups leaves. Why would the Nuggets want Harris in the deal, especially when he'll cost more than Lawson? If anything, they'll need a new SF if Melo leaves. The Nets have 2 candidates who would be enticing to the Nuggets in James and Williams. Next, the Nuggets will probably want a power forward for the future since K-Mart is in the final year of his contract and is injury-proned. Favors would really attract the Nuggets. Not to mention, K-Mart can serve as a mentor to Favors.
I say offer the Nuggets Favors, Williams (because he's versatile), Humphries (expiring contract) and a couple of 1st round draft picks for Carmelo Anthony. The Nuggets will consider that a very tempting offer and may bite on it. The Nets will then have their all-star scoring SF in Melo and the Nuggets will have their promising future in Favors, Williams and their future draft picks. What the Nuggets decide to do with Billups and Martin is up to them, but they definitely won't be Nets.
Now on to the Hornets. After the trade of Darren Collinson, the Hornets are likely certain not to trade Paul UNLESS the player they get in return is an all-star caliber player like Paul. That's where Harris would come into the picture. The Hornets are pretty much set at most of their positions, but are not certain if Paul will want to stay a Hornet. So before things get out of hand and the Hornets end up losing their franchise for nothing, they could consider trading him to the Nets in exchange for a package that includes all-star Devin Harris. Since there has been rumors that the Hornets want someone to take Okafor's contract, maybe the Nets can do just that. The Nets can offer the Hornets a package of Harris, Murphy (expiring contract), Ross (expiring contract) and a 2nd Rd draft pick for Paul and Okafor. The Nets will then have the NBA's best PG in Paul along with another player with double-double ability in Okafor while the Hornets not only get a cheaper Harris, but 2 expiring contracts that will free them up of money for next summer. In the end, the Nets could have a roster looking like this:
Lopez, Okafor, Melo, Morrow and Paul (Starting Five)
Petro, May/Zoubek, Outlaw, James and Farmar (Bench)
Uzoh (reserve)
Melo and Paul will be able to fulfill their dream of playing together in New York when the Nets move to Brooklyn in 2 years. Not to mention, the Nets will fall right under Prokhorov's plan to make them contenders for a title within the upcoming 5 year range. What do you guys think?

this has to be like the 4th fan post about landing both Paul and Anthony, hahaha, what a waste of time.
yeah
no offense to the OP, but this is really unrealistic.
We MAY get Anthony, and that’s a long shot as well
Talking about Paul at this point is well….pointless.

in fact, you already posted one a couple of days ago, hahahaha
trade doesn't work
Favors, Williams, and Hump for Anthony doesn’t work with salaries and our cap space. If this trade goes through before Dec 15, it basically HAS to include Harris. And let’s face it, if they trade Melo, they will trade Billups to a contender as well, in that case there would be space for Harris.
Funny thing....
It’s a funny thing….I am not such a big supporter of trading for Melo, since I know that it will probably take both Favors and TWILL leaving to make this work. I am actually looking forward to seeing what happens with Favors and TWILL over the next two years. WIth Miami loaded up for the next 6 years, and KOBE still having a few years left too. Bringing MELO to NJ/Brooklyn only means getting the the second round of the playoffs, it does not mean championship. SO….maybe I would rather watch the young guys develop, then get a 30 year old, whose game is pretty good, but who alone will not take us to the finals. Sometimes, life is about the journey, not the destination? I’d rather win 30 games this year, and keep all our young guys, then send Favors and TWILL away, and win an extra ten games and go out in the first round of the playoffs. GO NETS?
Paul from Delray Beach
Hello Cap space
Nice to meet you…wait ? Leaving so soon? we haven’t even have dinner…you know what?! Who needs you jerk! Leave then, LEAVE! COME BAAAAAACK! Horrible idea, these two will just make the jump to the knicks anyway (not sure about melo after the affray at the Garden). Either way not worth it, Melo is what he is adn he’s not getting any better.
