The Endless Off-Season and An Opportunity for Product Placement
It's not often one of the game's top players becomes a topic of trade rumors this late in the off-season or that four teams pull off a big trade a month and a half before training camp opens. Nor are so many free agents still available. Even less likely is that the Nets would be players in those August manuevers.
Still, we know boredom can set in, and Al Iannazzone uses the doldrums of August to propose a new marketing effort for the Nets (as if they needed more!?): Get in on the product placement and cameo boom that's taken over "Entourage", the HBO series. Iannazzone suggests roles for Avery Johnson, Mikhail Prokhorov and Brook Lopez.

Sasha Grey!!! Tequila!!! Horrible writing! Jumping the shark!!
I think that covers it.
"No one stands on the top of the world. Not you, not me, not even gods. But the unbearable vacancy of the throne in the sky is over. From now on...I will be sitting on it."
once they gave Turtle a featured role
and paired him with increasingly hot babes, you knew it was over.
Dania Ramirez is SMOKING
Her accent though is annoying.
And the whole Turtle/Tequila angle is awful. Shoot the writer.

Yes the writer can go
But the casting for the show is still top notch. Dania is so incredibly gorgeous.
But I agree – Turtle? I mean c’mon. Then again, he was dating Meadow Soprano in real life – but that’s AFTER he was a famous TV actor.
The character he plays in the show is not at all.
The casting is the only thing worth a damn on that show
and who saw the smoking hot babe in the gray skirt in the last episode? I almost had a heart attack.

Dana Gordon (Constance Zimmer) is my favorite
I liked Sloan at the beginning, but she wears off quickly
Turtle & Drama need their own show
Or at least Drama does. dude cracks me up
-Say man when I was growing up we wanted a Jacuzzi, we had to fart in the tub.
Sitcoms are built around a central, friendly character
surrounded by funny, nutty or crusty but benign minor characters. Attempts at creating shows around minor characters rarely work.
Mary Richards, Jerry Seinfeld, Rachel Greene, Vincent Chase, etc. work. Rhoda, Kramer, George, Joey, Turtle and Johnny Drama fit that minor description.. and don’t.
NetsDaily kicks so much butt
yesterday we had a mini OT discussion about Entourage and pornography(a G rated discussion, of course), now we’re talking about spin offs. I love this place.

"Central friendly character"...
One of the first and best sit-coms was the “Honeymooners”.
I wouldn’t call Ralph Kramden a “friendly character”. Funny yes… but not really “friendly”.
Am I the only one that found "Rhoda" kind of "hot"...
Mary Tyler Moore was a hot tamale in the old “Dick Van Dyke” show, but she lost something in the Mary Tyler Moore show.
Central friendly character
I wouldn’t say the model is so much a central character that’s “friendly”. I’d say it’s a central character that ppl can identify with. Whether it’s themselves, a friend, a family member, neighbor, or someone u hate, you have to be able to draw a bond to the character.

As long as Emmanuel Chriqui is on camera...
They could have Vince doing lines of white off Betty White and I’d still watch…
And Brook could probably act better than that entire cast minus Jeremy Piven. I’d also love to see Proky show up and roundhouse kick somebody.

I'm also fan of the tall brunette with the british accent that works as a secretary at Ari's office
smoking hot man.

It is a visual show. Just watch it with the sound off.

If anyone watched Alexis Glick interview Ratner, did anyone listen to Ratner or not get annoyed when he was on camera rather than Glick? And yes, better with the sound off

Slow news day until eLonepb shows up later with his Carmelo daily update...
so I found this article written about the Troy Murphy trade several weeks ago, Found it some what interesting. If it was posted before… sorry, but I haven’t seen it until today.
Here’s a small sample…
“Even during his 5 1/2 seasons in the Bay Area paradise, he admitted annually that he missed New Jersey and would prefer to be closer to home in the Eastern Conference”.
Full article… (The last half I found pretty interesting)…
Sorry... Didn't know.
I did find it odd that I couldn’t find a name attached to that post.
Can you delete my comment? Sorry Dave….
Is that Phil Jackson Behind Avery and Prok?
Thinking what could have been….

Entourage has picked up this season imo. They are going more edgy. i used to complain about the lack of hard drugs and scandal in this “hollywood” they were in.
How Adrian grenier kisses sasha grey in the mouth without gagging i will never know. She is not the type to bring home to mom.
Mrs.Ari also has some scenes where she looks smoking hot, for an older chick. She has a tight lil body.
