You've Waited For It, Now It's Here: Atlantic Yards, the Musical!!
You'll laugh, you'll cry! On stage, opening November 12, way, way off-Broadway ...Atlantic Yards, the Musical!
No, really, the six year long (and counting) battle over the Nets' Brooklyn arena has been set to music and will have a one-month run at the Irondale Center in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn. Entitled "In the Footprint: The Battle Over Atlantic Yards", a new play with music, it's based on interviews with players on both sides of the conflict and the lengthy public record. (We can't wait for the operatic presentation of the Environmental Impact Statement!) The Civilians, which bills itself as an "investigative" theatre company, is producing the musical.
No reviews yet, but one blog suggests an appropriate finale, "We hope the third act includes Bruce Ratner and Daniel Goldstein singing a duet while millions of dollars rain down around them." Bravo.

Oh yeah
This is going to be a big hit. I can imagine all the tourists from out of town who can’t wait to get to NY to see this show.
Hence the off Broadway venue...
As long as Tal, Isaac and Steve Ft Greene enjoy the show…it will have been worth it.

Will....
….the actor playing D. Goldstein be doing a rendition of “We’re in the Money”, during the climatic finale?
"No one stands on the top of the world. Not you, not me, not even gods. But the unbearable vacancy of the throne in the sky is over. From now on...I will be sitting on it."
that would be bad ass

I woiuld pay to hear Isaac warbling this Broadway classic from West Side Story...
When you’re a Net you’re a Net all the way
From your first cigarette
To your last dying day
When you’re a Net if the spit hits the fan
You’ve got brothers around
You’re a family man
You’re never alone
You’re never disconnected
You’re home with your own
When company’s expected
You’re well-protected
Then you are set with a Dr. J
Which you’ll never forget ‘till they cart you away
When you’re a Net you stay a Net!

and a homeless person
singing a rendition of that other #1 hit of the Depression era: “Brother Can You Spare A Dime.”
Daniel Goldstein can sing this great Broadway hit to a weeping Isaac and Tal...
Don’t cry for me, Tal and Isaac
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise, don’t keep your distance
And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired
They are illusions, they’re not the solutions they promised to be
The answer was here all the time
I love you, and hope you love me

And then the closing number, Memories from Cats...
Scene: Our hero Isaac, standing outside of the Izod Center, on a cool autumn evening, while the sun goes…
“Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan”
“Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again "
Dude you are on FIYA
i love you this morning
-Say man when I was growing up we wanted a Jacuzzi, we had to fart in the tub.
or maybe this Broadway classic M I K E from Grease
Guess mine is not the first heart broken,
my eyes are not the first to cry I’m not the first to know,
there’s just no gettin’ over you
Hello, I’m just a fool who’s willing to sit around
and wait for you
But baby can’t you see, there’s nothin’ else
for me to do I’m hopelessly devoted to you
But now there’s nowhere to hide,
since you pushed my love aside I’m not in my head,
hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you,
hopelessly devoted to you
If Prokorov is the
Russian Mark Cuban, he should make an appearance, playing himself, I thought Mark was pretty cool on Entourage

Entourage sucks so bad now
I thought that bringing Sasha Grey on would lead to some interesting stuff, but aside from the nudity, the writing has been awful in every aspect. Just a bad show, they need to pull the plug. Ally Musika sucks

Totally agree, it's the same episode every time
Fun for awhile, but now it’s boring. I actually at least got to look forward to Vince banging some super hot girl each episode, but now it’s just Sasha Grey who I can see in much more vivid “spreads” on the internet.
Watching Vince offer her money to not do one of her “films” was one of the most pathetic things that I’ve never seen.

The show has been on too long, where else can it go? So now Vince becomes a drug using loser and Turtle becomes a sucessful business man? Who new?
by ispartan on Aug 25, 2010 9:56 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions
yeah
I mean what will happen, Vince gets blacklisted for being a coke addict, E loses his job, and they’re supported by Drama with his new cartoon venture and Turtle’s shady business dealings with south american tequila peddlers??? They paid someone to write that stuff?
what a bunch of garbage
and good lord @ the actor that plays Vince….I hope that he’s getting tested weekly. I’ve seen too much of Sasha’s “work” to ever feel comfortable kissing that girl on the mouth, acting or not. I guess the money is worth it though.
I will say though, her eyes are beautiful…hahahha sorry about the OT talk mods.

baseless speculation I suppose.

Porn stars are among the cleanest in the country
The profession is so regulated, they get checked like weekly as a requirement. Nobody would work with you if you weren’t.
I know because I have friends who work in it. :)
I think we just hit rock bottom...
Thanks eLonepb… I will never be able to enjoy a porn movie ever again.
yeah
but “VD” is widespread in that industry from what I’ve read
And I think that’s as far as we need to go with this discussion.

who is gonna play NetIncome?
who is gonna play NetIncome? Bob?
The guy from Charlie's Angels?
If I remember correctly, you never actually saw him and he never talked too much, but he was the head honcho…
Casting Net Income will be the tough decision…
Oops... I was referring to NetsDaily being the guy from Charlie Angels...
I’m still working on Net Income. Gotta be careful with that one… LOL
They should have a projection screen in the background with commentary, featuring posts on NetsDaily of course.

First Time I really looked at the photo of Barclays Center
It looks really cool., Is this a final version look, or is it due to change from this conception?
Second chance
I actually didn’t see this the first time it came out, so this is a second change for me. That now takes away the missed oppurtunity that I had last year. For those that don’t know, the Irondale Center is located in Brooklyn over at 85 South Oxford Street between Lafayette Avenue and Fulton Street. You can get there by taking either the C train to Lafayette Avenue or the G train to Fulton Street. I suggest those that have yet to see it should take this chance, because it will only be for a month.
