Lee: "Big Relief" to Leave Nets
Courtney Lee was working out with the Rockets' Kevin Martin when he got word he'd been traded from New Jersey to Houston. He was happy with the news.
"It's definitely a big relief," he said. "I get to contend and compete in the Western Conference and chase a championship."
Lee also reflected on the team's 12-70 record, saying "we went out there and just played for each other and tried to get better as much as we could, even though the record said differently."

Screw Lee…
"I want to win, I want the team to win and I'm in complete control."
-Coach Avery Johnson.
+1
Lee will wish he gets 1/2 the PT as he was getting last year.
And I think it will be a toss-up as to which team finishes higher in the conference.
Maybe by trading Lee, and getting Murphy, Nets will now finish higher.
Nearly any BB player would prefer being a starter on a bad team than a 3rd stringer on an average team.
Houston should be average in the West this year.
I told yall he didnt want to be here. That dude was an overrated clown! He had no go to move and no handle for a sg. He also missed way to many open jumpers and had no type of personality on the court. Cdr was better.
Clee you suck and i am glad to see you go. You had all the opportunity in the world to show you could play starters minutes in this league and you failed.

LOL Houston competing for a championship?
Lets hope Yao holds up the WHOLE season, and if he does that they still have to go through Dallas, OKC, Portland and the Lakers. And maybe even Phoenix.
GOOD LUCK
Out of 3: Lee, CDR, and T-Will
Lee and CDR wanted to be traded. On the other hand, when all the trade rumors were running wild about a T-Will potential trade, he let worried Net fans know that he wasn’t going anywhere.
Wasn't it T-Will...
that was tweeting the “what if’s” regarding being drafted by another team such as Charlotte. I’m afraid we’re 3 for 3 Aunt B.
With that said…i’m still happy T-Will’s the one we still have…for now..
Plus..
I think Williams tried to clarify that his point (although a selfish one) was more about playing time when he wasn’t getting any on a crap team. That is: “What if I was on another team -would I be playing more?” Yeah he was being foolish. Considering the way the season was, at least he didn’t pour gas on the flames – you know? That’s a good sign.
Fact is basically nobody wanted to be on the Nets last year. It was pathetic through and through. Lee didn’t want to be here from the get-go and wanted no part of the impending turn-around. The impression I get from the others is that they are looking forward and enthusiastic. I think Williams will benefit from playing for Avery.
Lee was knid of a mental midget imo. And seeing him constantly penciled in as the starting SG was depressing for me because his celing is that of a decnet bench player at best imo.
Good riddance
I say good riddance to the poor man’s version of Kevin Edwards.
Have fun playing 11 minutes a game behind Kevin Martin.

From Day 1
From all the reports that he was “devastated” to be traded to the Nets, to his oft injured and uninspired play, Lee never made it easy to root for him. Loved the Murphy trade and have no qualms with saying good riddance.

I know all, if you can't stand losing get the bleep out of here, and have fun winning.

lol. he was useless on a team with 12 wins. hes not starting with Rockets, and isnt playin much, so he can enjoy contending with a lottery team

Defend him now
Dont let the door hit ya homie
I still like Lee. He didn’t want to be on a losing team last year after what he experienced in Orlando, but he always played hard for the Nets and didn’t cause any trouble. It was a bad situation last year so I don’t hold it against him that he didn’t love the idea of being a Net lifer. People are saying otherwise now, but I never saw him slacking or not giving effort. He had to adjust big time to learning how to score without playing off Dwight. It took him some time but he played a lot better in the second half of the season. You can be sure Houston is going after Carmelo and probably leading with an offer of Kevin Martin. If they pull it off, you could be seeing Lee starting again for a championship contender so lets not be so quick to say Lee is going to be buried on the Rockets.
CLEE
will be a very good player in the NBA…At the end of last year he really started coming into his own…….I wish him luck…….
