I mean, yeah, we have a miserable past, but it’s being overblown now because of the 12 win season. It’s like the Jason Kidd years never happened.

And it’s laughable to see New Yorkers dis us. Their team has been trash for a decade and the Nets have owned them, including a playoff beat down and TWO losses, one via blowout, by the pathetic team we had last year.

Screw the Knicks.

Don’t change the name. New York Nets.

unbelievable

With the nix doin’ the Dolan/Isiah thing all last week, they’re still not ashamed to have a farce like that in town. I’d think they would be happy to finally get a real franchise.

See this is one of the biggest reasons why we should KEEP the Nets. We would be weak in my mind if we thought “we are/were so bad, we cant turn it around and make what was once bad, good.”

Its giving up. Its the easy way out.

These columnists should read the Fan Website before writing stupid stories.

Fans want Nets name to remain. Proky IS promoting Nets name at present, all around the world.

Only question is whether to change location to “New York” or “Brooklyn”.

Proky has ZERO intention in the world to name the team after something local to Brooklyn.
ZERO chance.

ROBOCOP needs to wipe out these trash reporters. They are polluting the city.

pro-Jersey and pro-Brooklyn fans want the name to remain Nets

probably the only thing we can agree on and yet Prokhorov won’t let us know if this is his intention.

It was always about getting rid of NJ

Ever since the idea of moving the team to Brooklyn, the idea has always been to get rid of whatever has to NJ even if it means getting rid of the team name.

by Tal Barzilai on Aug 14, 2010 9:45 PM EDT reply actions

absolutely

whether you like the idea or not, the Nets have done everything they can to remove “New Jersey” from the Nets, from changing the stationary from “New Jersey Nets” to “Nets Basketball”, from pulling the “NJ” shield from the court and the uniform shorts to changing the away uniform from “New Jersey” to “NETS”.

Of course the NEW YORK Giants, the NEW YORK Jets and the NEW YORK Red Bulls have basically done the same thing…even though all three of three of them play in New Jersey, train in New Jersey and have their offices in New Jersey.

Insult to the fanbase

It’s very insulting to take away what the Nets mean to their fanbase. Removing the NJ name shows how much he hates them. The Devils actually embrace the state rather than try to get away with from it. This is exactly what the Nets should do. As a matter of fact, many teams embrace the place they play as a way to get fans, because it shows how much they care about the locals.
