The signing of Amare is a classic panic move by a franchise. They had a 200+ foot billboard put up across the street of another franchise. A few days later they sign a big free agent. Coincidence? I think not. Sure, Amare is good....but not great. Steve Nash made him good. How good will he be without him? Even Parker(who are they going to trade for him??) he is no Nash. Anyone remember Kenyon and Jefferson after Kidd? Jefferson player with Parker for a year. How did that work out Amare?
All we keep hearing about is playing in the mecca of sports. What has that mecca done since 1974? 1 title for the Rangers and 2 final appearances for the Knicks. For heaven sake Continental/Izod Center had 4 final appearances by the Devils/(3 titles) and 2 final appearances by the Nets..... in the past 11 years! Please with the history. There are talks already by Dolan and company about moving across the street by the post office building. FIOS anyone?
Do not let your hearts be troubled Nets fans. We have Harris(former all star 2 years removed) who Lebron said he would love to play with one day. We have a 20/10 franchise center, a versatile guard in TWill who is saw post a triple double in OT against the Bulls(the supposedly uber talented team that we beat twice). Hands down best player on the court that night. I think he will be best player on the team in few years. C. Lee who is solid 2 guard/rotational player. Plus Favors and D. James(not Lebron yet:).
My point: We have a better future, better coach, better talent, better management, better building and more flare(Office Space anyone?). We are a cooler organization now with Proky and Jay-Z. I feel Lebron is choosing between us and Cleavland. The Bulls are getting D. Wade. I cannot possibly imagine Rose, Wade and Lebron on same team. They all play with the ball. To much going on offensively between the 3 they are all similar. Miami is nothing without Wade. We had the best pitch to Lebron according to multiple reports. In the end either Lebron signs with us now....or 3 years from now(I'm thinking if he signs with Cleavland it will be for 3 years). But it will happen. Oh and the NY hat we was wearing? So 3 years old...he wore it at the Cleavland NY Yankee game in 2007 also. Typical NY media fabrication. I'm a Mets and NY Giants fan so I hear that BS all the time. Anyway, future looks bright my fellow Nets fans!
