With the Nets likely to move to Brooklyn in 2 years, that could (in some way) persuade Carmelo to play for his hometown Nets since Carmelo is a Brooklyn Native. His newlywed wife La La Vazquez is also a Brooklyn native. If the Nets were to make a trade for Paul, there would be a possibility that the Nets could recruit Carmelo. Of course, the Nets have to show that they're going to be competitive. Paul and Melo could help to put the Nets back on top of the Eastern Conference like the Nets were 7-8 years ago when they went back-to-back in the NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003. With Lopez, Melo and Paul along with the other supporting cast members, the Nets would be able to compete with the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic in the East. It's certainly possible, but can Prokhorov help pull this off since he thinks the Nets can be competitive within 5 years?
