In discussing the Knicks' inability to land Rudy Fernandez, the Daily News' Frank Isola tweets that New York is only one of five places where the Spanish shooting guard would like to play. The Nets, Bulls, Celtics and Heat are the others.
Fernandez, 6'6", averaged 8.1 ppg and 2.6 rpg for the Blazers last season, shooting 36.8% from deep but only 37.8% overall.
He's wanted out of Portland for the past year. The 25-year-old makes $1.25 million and is midway through his rookie contract. The Nets seem overstocked at the 2 and 3, but understocked at the 4, with only Derrick Favors and Kris Humphries as natural power forwards and Johan Petro backing up at the 4 and 5.
