So, now that Billy King has reportedly accepted Rod's position what does everyone think of a Billy King, Bobby Marks, Avery Johnson collective?
I just feel like EVERY time there is an announcement about something regarding this team from the minute Prokhorov has taken over, there has YET to be one thing to occur that has been a overall consenus "good thing" to happen. Aside from the initial creation of the billboard, which granted, we look somewhat silly for putting up considering we got nothing, I do love the fact that he has officially declared war on the Knicks.
Losing the NBA Draft Lottery, wavering on EVERY possible draft pick and settling for the intial consensus in Favors, hiring Avery Johnson after bigger names (some not realistic at all) were discussed as potential candidates, striking out in FA and signing role players....... It just seems like we're still missing that "SPLASH" that was promised to us.
Look, I think our FA moves would be fantastic if they were done after getting a PF (Boozer). At this point, for these moves to really be effective and succeed in doing what they were intended to do, we HAVE TO have a SOLID PF who can score down low and will require a double-team, not always, but at least in some situations, allowing us to utilize all of the athletic wing, outside players we continue to add.
I don't know much about Billy KIng, I did read someones post about all of the money (I believe it totaled over $300 million) that King wasted in a four or five year span during the end of Iveron's prime and in-turn led to the downfall Philly is still trying to recover from. I'm nervous about this hire from seeing all of the money he has wasted and because I do not know much about him so I have nothing to really use to help me develop an opinion on him.
What are everyone's thoughts?
Finally, do we have a realistic shot at landing CP3/Okafor or CP3/West? Whether it is before the season or mid-season, is this another fantasy like all of the LeBron nonsense or is this actually possible?
