Yeah, I had thoughts of Lebron, Wall and company taking the East by storm next year but now that reality has set in, I am actually excited by the team's directions.
Morrow, Outlaw, Farmar and Petro are all young, athletic players with a lot of promise. The Nets will be underdogs once again but they seem to have a good squad of good guys with a lot to prove. They will be the youngest team in the league with cap room and draft picks to spare.
Farmar and Outlaw have been rotation players on playoff caliber teams.
I thought Morrow was an absolute steal. He's shooting 45% from 3pt... his FG% isn't 45%, his 3pt% is, now that's crazy talk.
There is a lot of negativity on the board but I don't see. The Nets younger and more talented than last year. They are a team you can root for. They are the underdogs.
Over the past couple of seasons, I hated it when Simmons, etc. were put into the game instead of playing the younger players. That won't happen this year since everyone is young.
Are the Nets better now than if their starting five had Wall, Bosh and Lebron in it? No.
But they may be easier to root for.
