Rutgers University has hired Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the company that will operate Barclays Center, to help market naming rights for Rutgers Stadium and Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway.  The 52,454-seat stadium is the only one in the Big East that retains the university name.

The BSE team, headed by Nets CEO Brett Yormark, has had success in the past.  Yormark was able to broker a naming rights deal for the Meadowlands Arena in 2008, getting IZOD to pay $7 million over five years.  That deal was handled  by Nets Sports and Entertainment, which has been succeeded by Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment in the naming rights business.  BSE is 55% owned by Bruce Ratner and 45% by Mikhail Prokhorov,

"We look forward to teaming with IMG College in continuing to strengthen Rutgers' position as a rising power in college athletics." said Yormark who started the naming rights business after selling the naming rights for the Nets Brooklyn arena to Barclays Bank.
