With Yi finally out of the picture and our new cap number finally moving from 27.1, to 30 mil, we are 3 million short of the all important, avoid S&T $33 million.
Kris Humphries '10-'11 Contract: $3.2 million
Clearly, as we all have known this for a while, he has to go so we can clear the space.
This is what I propose, I am looking for feedback on my idea as well as other potential better suggestions.
My thoughts are, we find another team like Washington, who is under the cap in sort of a weird place (not contending for these big FA's) and we offer:
Kris Humphires ($3.2 million), any one of our upcoming future 1st round picks (the team we're trading him can choose which pikc they want for all I care) and $3 million (this essentially means the team taking him on, although they would be eating 3.2 in cap space, it would only cost them $200,000 out of pocket) FOR a future second round draft pick.
We clear off his $3.2 million, get over that all-important $33 million mark AND by doing so, IF we land two big guys LeBron and Bosh/Amare, we're going to be good enough where I don't think anyone is going to care about that first round pick we surrender.
Any thoughts? Better Ideas?
YI IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
