Yi, Lopez Could Be Part of World Championship Prelim in NYC
Yi Jianlian will be competing for Team China in the FIBA World Championships in Turkey this September. Brook Lopez looks like he has a good shot at making Team USA. If so, you could see the teammates competing in an NBA-sponsored Hoops Festival in New York a month earlier.
Five or six national teams, including those from the United States, China, Brazil and Puerto Rico, will hold public practices at New York venues like Times Square and Rucker Park and compete in an exhibition tourney at Madison Square Garden.

I sort of hope that...
…Brook doesn’t make the team, but more than likely he will. My selfish reason is because of the fact that Brook needs to get his arse in the gym and work on getting his lower body strength up to par so he doesn’t get pushed out of the paint when he tries to post up.
But if he does, cool, it will be a good experience for him and it will be good publicity for the team.
