Is Prokhorov Already the 12th Most Powerful Owner in the NBA?
SportsGrid is the newest spinoff of the PowerGrid system. It uses algorithms to measure all manner of things, from media personalities to fashion styles. Among its first rankings is that of NBA owners and according to SportsGrid, Mikhail Prokhorov is already the 12th most powerful NBA owner.
The ranking is based on various metrics, including the team's Performance Value Rating, estimated team value, TV mentions and online buzz. Prokhorov ranks in the top 10 in news buzz (#2), blog buzz (#3), and search (#4). What's holding things down is the team's perfomance ranking (#29) and team value (#28). The Cavaliers' Dan Gilbert ranks #1 in the system, the Knicks' James Dolan #15. The rankings are updated daily.
Here's another metric where Prokhorov has had an effect. The Times reports that Nets have sold 1,300 new season tickets, 500 of them since Prokhorov arrived in New York and created a bit of a buzz. That's still half of what the Knicks have sold this off-season. One of the teams is likely to get a bigger boost, come July.

For Proky, I highly doubt we've seen "power" yet
Not sure how often that list is updated, but I’m sure at the start of next season, Proky will be at least top 3.
Speaking of power, anybody see this article on espn.com about LeBron, DWade, Joe Johnson, and Bosh having a meeting together to discuss their free agency plans? Almost seems like they’re trying to write the nba’s future.

I Think it's interesting, if true.
This tells you these kids are trying to create a spur this of season. I doubt many of them will go anywhere though.
On second thought, I have a feeling this was D Wade’s idea.
And so said the old man!
Wade loves Miami
He’s just trying to make the Heat commit or promise him more money, even after he’s done with basketball. In other words, he wants more than the max payout.
He’s stirring the pot so to speak, to see what the Heat can offer.
It’s all about the Benjamins, he already has a ring.
I doubt if they really want to play together. It’s possible, but it’s not really his intent.
Its funny tho
Bosh has never done anything, Joe Johnson has never done anything,D-Wade has a ring but is getting older still like him, Lebron is a horse but still needs a jumpshot. I mean honestly I want to see results because as great as these players are it takes a team to win a championship, even if you get two of these players your only guaranteed to probably make the playoffs.
Oh, I was supposed to comment about Proky
The fact that we are being mentioned by everyone who call themselves bloggers, journalists, or even experts is great. Go nets!
And so said the old man!
