Prokhorov Cited in US Intelligence Report on Kremlin Control of Internet
Not all the publicity Mikhail Prokhorov got this week was positive. "The Secrecy Report" has posted a US intelligence analysis suggesting Prokhorov and other oligarchs are helping the Kremlin gain control of Russia's Internet.
The report by the Director of National Intelligence states: "Oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov, who is known to cooperate with the Kremlin, owns Ros Biznes Konsalting (RBC), which has been quietly gobbling up Russian Internet (Runet) domains, holding 21% of the Runet’s sites."
Among the sites Prokhorov controls: "Loveplanet.ru, the second-most popular online dating service in the Runet."
