Game 64 - Nets @ Mavericks - Wednesday, March 10, 8:30
The Mavs are hurt but hot. It's possible the Nets won't face Jason Terry, Erick Dampier, Brendan Haywood, Jose Barea or Tim Thomas when they play in Dallas. They will face Jason Kidd and they will face Dirk Nowitzki and that was enough for the Mavs to blow out the Timberwolves Monday night. Now that we've dispensed with how hurt they are, let's talk about how hot they are? They've won 12 straight and are only two and a half games back of the Lakers in the West. The Nets have been riding Brook Lopez and their three perimeter players--Devin Harris, Courtney Lee and Terrence Williams--this month. With Dallas lacking a shot blocker, they could be making a lot of trips to the painted area. A Net win would gain them something more than respect. It could help in the NBA Draft. The Mavs run has had the effect of dropping the Nets in the draft.. The Dallas pick, owned by the Nets, is now #27 in the first round.

Hard to see them winning
It would be almost impossible to win against Mavs now.
They looked like losing the palyoffs at one point before the trade and then it went really bad for our pick.
Yea I’m shocked they’re doing as well as they are. I never thought it was gonna be a lottery pick, but I didn’t see them being top 5 in the league, it’s crazy! We haven’t been good with late 1st/2nd round picks (insert CDR debate haha), I think we should use them for some sort of trade.

brook has to go for 30pts and our backcourt has to dorp atleast 40 for the nets to have a chance. there is no reason that harris shouldn’t get more than 8free throws.
When we made the trade
I thought there was a good chance that this could have been a lottery pick. JKidd seemed like he was on the decline, jason terry and dirk would be on the wrong side of 30, and they gave us one of their most promising young players.. But money is the most important asset in the NBA and Dallas remade their roster making good use of it. Trading nothing (Antoine Wright, Devean George, and Stack) and cash for Shawn Marion and acquiring Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood in a fire sale. Besides that, dirk and terry have shown no signs of decline and JKidd has learned to shoot the 3. Teams willing to spend when others are looking to cut costs are going to be the best teams in the NBA.
I’m just glad that this will apply to us soon..
who cares
the mavs aint winning a championship…. so i dont really care waht they do….
they are only playoff contenders…..nothing more…nothing less
