Boone To Start in Yi's Absence
Josh Boone hasn't played in five games, but he will be starting Monday in Memphis with Yi Jianlian rehabbing his ankle back in New Jersey. And he could get several starts with Kiki Vandeweghe estimating Yi will be out for 10 days or so. "That's typically how it goes," said Boone. "The first big off the bench tends to not start when someone goes down just so the rotation doesn't get messed up a little bit." Kris Humphries, who has supplied energy the last several games, will come off the bench.
After taking a look at the renderings of Barclays Center, Julian Garcia thinks they look like the FedEx Forum in Memphis. Not a surprise. The two buildings, along with another seven NBA arenas, were designed by Ellerbe Becket of Kansas City.

Why not Humphries?
I can understand wanting to bring Humphries off the bench but you’d think if it was just that he’d be getting almost equal time with Yi not like less than 20 minutes a night.

Simple
Boone will get his minutes and produce nothing which he has been doing his whole career. Serious do you want the Nets to go on a win streak and lose the chance at the number 1 pick.
Starting Boone is the best way to preserve that number 1 pick.. Now that Harris and Lee is playing like NBA starters.
Typical...
Yet another NetsDaily commenter conspiracy theory with no merit whatsoever. First of all, we’re 7 games behind Minnesota and considering we’ve won just 7 games, we’re not worried about passing them in the standings. Also, this team does not want to be the worst team ever so we’re not intentionally losing games. The reason is that we have a rotation and want to stick to it, and our coaches like Hump off the bench because he brings energy and is versatile enough to play both the 4 and the 5. But believe whatever you want.
The Legend
Haha. Nice.
I like Hump and think he should get more minutes. Boone is pure pack in the paint rebounding, doesn’t add much dept to the team. People here love groundless conspiracies.
What do you expect from Genius Kiki
Humphries should be starting next to Lopez the rest of the year.
I hope in the fourth quarter he is out there becaue if we are in the game we will need a better free throw shooter in case of fouls.
Genius Kiki will screw it up anyway.
In two years Rod has change the whole team with Boone being the last piece to go.
We won in NY because Yi went out in the first quarter.
Well how many games do win play in the next ten days while he is out?
How exciting it gives us a chance to win three more. to avoid the record.
Yeah!
This is a good thing.
Trade Yi & Boone with future picks to get more picks this year.
D.Cousins and K.Humphries will be two PF for the Nets next year.
Disprespect C.Lee and Harris
They played great, the reason we win. Not because Yi got injured.
Future
Ask yourself why not start Humphries?
This way he can get valuable time FOR NEXT YERA.
Ask yourself again, do you think J.Boone will be on the team next year?
I really dont think so.
Humphtries will and he will be our second unit PF in the rotation of ten.
I am excited for boone
he is the only player on the nets that knows how to track a drive to the basket and finish or rebound a missed shot. The only player. He always cleans up for devin harris. If he can give us 10 and 10 i am more than happy.
He doesnt make the defensive mistakes yi makes but his offense is horrid.
Boone bring rebounds blocks and team defense
Starting Boone makes sense he is our best defensive big, I like him with his length starting out on Zach. I think Boone should com back next year, unless we can get a better replacement. He played on playoff teams, he’s not the worst big in the league far from it, h’s serviceable enough unless you get something better.
Agreed. I want to see boone back next year. Finding servicable bigs off the bench is not easy.

I agree
and I don’t understand why so many people want to cut ties with him. He’s only like 26-27 and he’s definitely a serviceable back up pf/center. I would think plenty of teams would love to have a player like him to give them 15-20 minutes a night.

Collecting A Paycheck
The guy name Boone is just collecting a paycheck.
He rather be playing Video Games from what Iam told.
Sad.
You can see by his performance and talent level.
Very Sad for Nets fans
I don't have an issue with starting Boone
or bringing him back next year. I just don’t understand how Humphries can’t get 30+ minutes a night regardless of whether Yi or Boone is starting.

Boone
Boone is better than Yi because Boone can play defense. Yi’s defense is a joke, and his offense isn’t much better. Yi looked pathetic against the Cavaliers. His bounce pass LeBron James stole was a classic.
Obviously, we would have beaten Cavs.
And Lebron if Boone had stated instead of Yi. Boone racks up those assists and never turns it over. Err…. NO.
Boone deserves time. I really don’t know why he has not been playing. I think we have seen enough of Yi to know that this is what he is and he should not be getting anywhere near 35 minutes a night. Boone can be an intense player and he has a great ability to streak to the basket and to clean up. He is a superior defender to Yi and Hump and Lopez is comfortable with him around. No he is not a starter, but neither is Yi.
Totally agree
He does play off Lopez very well. He’s an active body who’s got better athleticism and instincts defensively than Yi.
No Yi is nice
Ah going to be nice to see Boone. But I’m more curious to see if C Lee and D Harris can keep up the good play.
Yeah Boone
Good hump brings energy off the bench…now start twill aswell.

Whether Boone stays or goes?
The next five games are a good chance to finally determine whether or not Boone has a place on this team next year. My gut tells me no, but if he really steps up over the next few games, he might just create a place for himself, as the tenth or eleventh player on the roster next year. But I hope THE HUMPH gets 30 minutes a game while Yi is out. He still has more of an upside than Boone. Whatever happens at PF, I still don’t want to see HASSELL get any minutes. What is the point in playing him? TWILL & CDR should be getting the bulk of the minutes at SF. Happy to see LEE playing so well, I thought he had a big upside when we got him from Orlando. I think he is a 20 point scorer in this league, and a good defender.

Yeah nothing pisses me off more
than seeing Hassel getting off the bench or seeing his name in the boxscore with anything other than a DNP-Coaches decision next to it. What possible reason is their to give him any minutes.

TWill should have starting over trenton… I was hoping for Twill to start at SF tonight and defend Gay but the coach has it’s own idea. Go Nets!
