Which, let’s face it, is almost a guarantee – I want VC to have an outstanding game. I still love the guy.

Krusty Burgers for everyone when the Magic score 100!

Tonight's starting lineup should be

Harris
Lee (if healthy)
TWill
Yi (for first two minutes)
Lopez

We get to watch VC again.

Howard vs Lopez, Howard can be vulnerable to bigger taller players.

by Malorkayel on Mar 5, 2010 8:06 PM EST reply actions

I guess Lopez’s idea is to let Howard dunk as often as possible to tire him out.

Isn’t it obvious? If an opposing team’s best player is on the bench, it only makes sense for the Nets to make a bit of a run

I don’t think Howard ever was on the bench? And yeah, obviously. If they didn’t make any runs when their best players were on the bench, they’d be losing games by an average of 37 points per night.

Devin's jumpers

He HAS TO stop taking out-of-rhythm jumpers COMPLETELY against the flow of the offense. He does it every game and it’s completely infuriating. An actual established coach (not Kiki) wouldn’t stand for it.

Terrence Williams thus far has been playing excellent “D” and he isn’t too bad on offense either. His best jumpshots come from the corner. Working from the elbows and out he’s an awful shooter.

by TWilliAM on Mar 5, 2010 9:04 PM EST reply actions

He really is so far. It’s not that he’s played poorly, he’s just barely had the ball in his hands. I’m not entirely sure why he spent so much time on the bench in the 2nd quarter either.

'The Crossover' - a Nets and Knicks podcast. http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=268817312

by Rusty_b on Mar 5, 2010 9:10 PM EST up reply actions

A few spins and drives to the hoop and he can easily put up 8 or 10 points fairly quickly. He’s been settling for the jump-shot a little too much.

by giacomo on Mar 5, 2010 9:12 PM EST up reply actions

There is no hope: We are Nets fans

Dwight Howard will dominate in the third quarter, going for about 15 points and grabbing 9 boards before briefly sitting out to start the fourth quarter.

When Dwight isn’t given the ball, the Magic’s outside shooters will nail the three everytime they throw it near the basket. When they do miss one of their 27 attempts in the quarter, Howard, Bass, or Gortat will get the offensive board and go back up for the layup.

We will be down around 20 points heading into the fourth.

by giacomo on Mar 5, 2010 9:09 PM EST reply actions

Why are times in Pacific Standard Time?

Isn’t this the official site for New Jersey Nets news & discussions? Why can’t we be in EDT, being that, you know, most of us are on the East coast?

The Magic starters looked totally disinterested, especially Vince who I came to see play. They just kept getting the ball to Barnes and made him do the scoring. The only excitement was the Howard-VC dunk show during warmups.

I propose that the Nets

run a perimeter defense drill after this quarter. Way too many open looks from outside.

I’m not liking Nate’s mentoring prowess so much. We all know what happened last time they got together, lol.

Yeah, with the ball in Vince’s hands.

by giacomo on Mar 5, 2010 10:11 PM EST up reply actions

Terrence Williams Dunk

6/10.

Could’ve been better, but it would’ve been awful if he missed it. Next time, let’s throw it off the backboard, go through the legs in mid air, 360 spin and throw it down with the left hand.

by giacomo on Mar 5, 2010 10:11 PM EST reply actions

I’m surprised Harris didn’t tackle him, steal the ball and take a three.

It’s quite obvious our biggest weakness: We have zero outside shooters besides a streaky Lee. Teams just pile the paint and box out.

by Atronic on Mar 5, 2010 10:22 PM EST reply actions

it's not too bad guys

We’re only 49 games under .500.

They’re going to get rid of the salary cap and next year our starting lineup is going to consist of John Wall, Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, David Lee and Brook Lopez.

And really, a lineup of Devin Harris, Courtney Lee, Trenton Hassell (resigned for eight years), Yi Jianlian (locked up through 2040) and Brook Lopez (injured in first game of year, replaced by Shaq just so his Newark ppl don’t get too depressed) can still win us 10 or 12 games next season. Add a Rudy Gay and David Lee, we might miss the playoffs but win 30 or 35.

WE MUST BEAT THE KNICKS 2MORO
