I’d like us to bring back Coah Cal. He’s a good coach, and has the experience leading young teams whose kids needs to be taught the game.

Say what you want about Cal’s days in NJ, but he did what he could with the talent he was given. He brought excitement back to the Meadowlands. I’ll never forget the series against the Bulls in 1998.

And I’m not sold on Wall. Give me a team player who makes everyone else around him better: Evan Turner.

You don’t think a guy who’s leading the #2 team in the country as a freshman is making his team better? Come on.

Proud to hold season tickets to the only NBA team soon to be owned by a Russian oligarch.

I don't get to watch as much College ball as I would like...

But I find it amazing how much Turner’s stock has risen. It seems like only a matter of days ago, Wall was an ABSOLUTE lock for the top pick. Now? It seems like we have a decision to make.

One thing is clear though, if we get either one, we’ll be in an absolutely fantastic position. I may be over-estimating Proky’s influence just a little bit here, but do you think it’s possible for him to convince Stern to move the date of the lottery draw up, to say, tomorrow? This waiting is killing me!

Who ever we pick i just hope it wall, turner, or favors…because i believe that each of those can become good players…others still have question marks…

Anyway I think its time to start Twill at SF, i think he’s starting to get it…

Harris
Lee or CDR
Twill
Yi
Lopez.

TWill

Terrence Williams played very well last night. It’s hard to deny his potential, and if he can put together any kind of consistency, I think we should all be excited about him.

by killlaacam on Mar 4, 2010 11:47 AM EST reply actions

I think he could still use some work on his jumper – if he can shoot like he did last night on a consistent basis, he’s a much better starting option than either CDR or Hayes.

CDR

I feel bad for CDR…he has no rhythm going right now…started the season sooo strong…once they took him out he lost his touch…

Hayes has been really inconsistant…i guess mostly because its been an injury plagued season for him…

After twills performance last night they should give him a starting opportunity because this season was supposed to be about developing the youngsters…But kiki wouldn’t start him because he said twill is a great energy option “off the bench”…

You suck kiki

T-Will

T-Will’s three point shooting isn’t as bad as his mid range game. If he could get that mid range shot going it would be such a weapon because he can get the shot off on anybody. The Nets need to make sure he gets his minutes this year.

Wall is the obvious guy for any team

It doesn’t matter that he’s a point guard and we have Harris already. He’s a can’t miss prospect and the rest of the draft is a big drop off from him. Turner and Favors are good players, but Wall is a point guard out of a Calipari system that has recently produced two guys named Rose and Evans. If we can get lucky and win the lottery, picking Wall is a no-brainer. Filling in the other spots in the rotation can come through free agency or trades.

If we could get Wall, everything goes downhill from there, because free agents will be attracted to play with him. They will see an up-and-coming team that has a bright future with Harris, Lopez and now coming along lately Lee.

I don’t even consider Yi as a building block because he is absolutely awful. No defense, too many jumpers. With his skill set, he should be scoring 16-18 ppg and grabbing 8 rebounds, shooting up arounnd 50%. Instead, he settles for mediocrity.

Future Nets Coach?

I bet Cal would join the Nets if the money was right., especially if Wall was on board too.

Bring Back the old NetsDaily!

This site’s User Experience is not as good as the old site. Guess it’s cheaper for “The Rat” though

by NetRick on Mar 4, 2010 12:34 PM EST reply actions

Other was more simple and easier to use…but this one has some kool stuff also

by Andy. on Mar 4, 2010 12:45 PM EST up reply actions

Huh?

The Rat? What’s he got to do with it?

by John at the Jersey Shore on Mar 4, 2010 2:11 PM EST up reply actions

I personally like the new netsdaily. Also, I would be ok with John wall or Evan Turner, I think it’s a win win.

Draft 2010

There is a chance E.Turner pulls out of the draft because he is dating one of the stars on the womens Ohio State team.
Besides next year the team will have the top recruiting class in the country.
The Nets badly need a PF and if D.Cousins comes out he should be the pick for the Nets.
This guy is C.Barkley with talent and heart along with being 6 inches taller. OUCH!

by Dziedzic on Mar 4, 2010 4:07 PM EST up reply actions

I’m sorry, but there is NO WAY you can compare Cousins to Chuck. Not yet. Chuck – pound for pound, inch for inch – is one of the best all-around players of the last 30 years.

Well

Yes may have a point it is to early.
But don’t just be a follower and wait as this guy develops at 19.
You are right he is not C.Barkley.
He is 6’-11" 260 and 19
What I am trying say the comparison comes that both play rough, with talent and heart.
You cannot teach the rough and heart aspect.
That is what Yi does not have and will never will.
It comes from within.
Barkley and Cousins in alley would be a hell of a brawl if they both were 19.
That is why I want Cousins next to Lopez next year. Old Schooler Baller with heart.
I am sure CHUCK would agree about Cousins.

New look is not as nice...

…but embedded replies to comments is the only way to go!

Complaint: I wish the author’s screen name was at the top of the comment, like old NetsDaily, not at the bottom. I find myself looking down to see who is writing before I read the comment.

That's the SB Nation standard

Hopefully you’ll get used to it.

I'm sure I will...

…but I’ll miss “NetsDaily said…”. At least I can put my picture in my reply!

Evan Turner means more to the Buckeyes than Wall to his team. Would you say Turner is playing alongside any kind of NBA talent on Ohio St? Let alone potential star players in the NBA like Cousins. IMO, there is no NBA talent on Ohio St, aside from Turner. Playing at the level he’s played after coming back from that injury and bringing that team into AP’s top 6 is something that only the greatest can do. If I had the #1 pick in this year’s draft, I would take Evan Turner in a heartbeat.
