NetsDaily at SBN

On behalf of all the regular readers/posters, let me be the first to say congrats on the new digs. I can only imagine how much of a job the conversion was, but it seems to have worked a treat. I've read/replied to a few other SBN blogs in the past and I know how affective the links between the different team blogs can be.

Thanks for pulling what is seemingly an all-nighter just to get things in order ASAP. I'm sure I'm not just speaking for myself when I say it's much appreciated.

Here's to the continued success of the site.

It's All New!

Seconded. Must say the timing of the change is impeccable considering the current Nets’ situation.

love it!

Love the new layout!! GO NETS!!

Had to test this out

Looks like the infamous GO NETS!!! censorship system didn’t make the transfer.

Smashing! That’s British talk for ‘Awesome’… or something.

Not to advertise another team's blog, but....

Ever since VC was traded to the Magic, I’ve been reading and occasionally replying to the “Orlando Pinstriped Post” blog (formerly “Third Quarter Collapse”). Ever since I came across that blog – and the tremendous work of Ben Q. Rock – I’ve been wishing for NetsDaily to go the same way (part of the SBN stable). Now that it has, I think it’s fantastic.

SBN's relationship with Yahoo!

Not that the original NetsDaily site had any real issues in terms of lack of traffic (that I know of, of course), but now that it’s on the SBN platform, links from places like the Nets’ Yahoo! Sports NBA page could prove huge in luring in the masses.

Thanks for the love.

Hopefully there was enough warning that the new look wasn’t too much of a shock to anyone.

The good folks behind SB Nation deserve all the credit for the changeover. That’s one of the great things about coming here: We finally have tech support.

The GO NETS!!! filter is still alive and well on the forum, which you can get to with the button at the right end of the red nav bar.

Question: Can we get game threads on the main page or will they be strictly for the forum?

by TWilliAM on Mar 4, 2010 7:27 AM EST reply actions

And a good question it is. I would hope we could get the game threads on the main blog page, ala. OPP (Orlando Pinstriped Post). The game threads there are extraordinarily active due to the fact that each user can post multiple times in quick succession without having to refresh the page – that is, replies like this one appear right before your very eyes. It’s great for anyone surfing the blog while also watching a game live.

Yep active game thread are one of the perks of being on SBN.

I’m on OPP also btw, I thought I recognized you haha.

When the big fella was whistled for his fourth personal foul midway through the third quarter, Stan Van Gundy left Clark Kent alone. And in a phone booth measuring 94 feet across, Dwight Howard used that vote of confidence to transform into his alter ego. - Chris Sheridan

There will be game threads on the main site.

We’ve just got to figure out how we handle it. We normally post the preview (with links) about 24 hours ahead of time. We may just bump that to the top, or create a separate thread.

by NetsDaily on Mar 4, 2010 8:09 AM EST up reply actions

I go on a Syracuse site on SBN

And they post a preview (or two) and then create a game thread on game day. It’s always worked well that way.

by pegs on Mar 4, 2010 9:48 AM EST up reply actions

Many ways to do it.

One of the beauties of SBN threads is that they all work the same way in the commenting section.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16

What happened to the message boards. Is there something to replace that?

In the top Nav Bar

There is a link for Forums. Those are the same message boards. You can also access them by going to http://forums.netsdaily.com

Check out all the nice features along the red bar near the top.
Now we can get all the Nets Stats and Roster directly.

One thing that could be great

is that you guys can help us moderate the comments by flagging ones that break our rules or go against our guidelines.

If you see a comment that’s a personal attack on someone else, or one of those where the person spells every other word wrong and doesn’t use a single punctuation mark, please flag it and we’ll get to it quickly.

To flag a comment, click on the “actions” button at the bottom of it and then “flag.”

Those of us who run the site hope that this will help us get the discussion back up to a high level. I imagine that most of you want the same thing.

Change is the only constant that we can count on....

I knew this change was coming, but it will take me some time to get used to it. I very much enjoy sharing opinions with all of you NETS fans. This has been a difficult season, but being able to share and joke with you all, as we build a 6 win season, has made things bearable. If things break right for us, by this time next year, we could have 35 wins and be in the hunt for a playoff spot. Here’s hoping that Proky, Thorn and Kiki and the ping pong balls, all fall the right way for us. GO NETS!

I dont like this, too fancy. Bring back the old Netsdaily, this reads like an ESPN chatroom with fans of all teams from all over. I enjoyed commiserating with my fellow local Nets fans…

The first day of comments...

has been almost all from the same people that commented on the old site.

Yes, we’re now part of a much larger community, but I think for the most part, the same people that were commenting on the old site will be commenting here.

And better yet, there won’t be people commenting under multiple handles, like we had (a lot of) on the old site.

Welcome to SBN.

Was wondering if/when it would happen, glad it did. This is easily the best NBA community around, and glad it’s got all the teams represented now.

Glad to be here!

Love NetsDaily and was always curious if there was a site like it for other teams. Never knew about SBN, it’s like a whole new world and I like it!

Interface is definitely too busy, and would prefer the old NetsDaily. But this aint too bad.

As a reader of Nets Daily when it was independent, I gotta say this is pretty cool to see Nets Daily in SBN.

Should be fun to see how the format changes Nets Daily, if any.

Lost my handel Mr. Big. Got an E-mail from Chris about getting the recent comments on the home page for this site. Always like that tool otherwise, this looks good but will take some time to get used to.

The best of both worlds: Nets Daily & SBN

Welcome, can’t wait for the Nets/Magic game thread posted in “real time.” I was already a member of “Card Chronicle” (a U of L Cardinal SBN blog.) Needless to say I follow Terrence Williams; this is how I stumbled upon your blog months ago. Nets Daily is terrific! I have posted several of your articles on Card Chronicle to let other T-Will fans keep up with him and the Nets. I am positive that your membership numbers will increase tremendously! Again welcome and “thanks” for all the great info. Go-Nets!!!!

Is it just me?...

Or is the main header a dark brown color?

That just about the only thing on the ENTIRE new site that I don’t like.

Seems appropriate. The Nets reside in the sewer of the NBA.

I just realized...

That it took ‘NetsDaily’ making the switch to give SBN a full compliment of NBA team blogs.

Not just NBA

but the Nets were the only team in the four major sports that weren’t represented on SB Nation.
