Nets Stuck on Seven Wins as Sixers Awake From Slumber
If Fred Carter wants to keep his title of the best player on the worst team in NBA history, he didn't get any help from the current version of the Sixers. Philly completed a season sweep by ending their five-game losing streak and trouncing the Nets at the Wachovia Center on Wednesday. The Sixers took control with a 9-0 run late in the first quarter and added to their lead throughout the night. The Nets shot just 41 percent from the field and allowed Philly to shoot 56 percent. Chris Douglas-Roberts had his best game in months, scoring 23 points on 9-15 shooting, but Brook Lopez (2-9), Courtney Lee (1-8) and Terrence Williams (4-16) all struggled. The Sixers were led by Andre Iguodala (20 points and eight assists) and Jrue Holiday (19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists).

Very bad loss
I guess it’s just one more loss, but wow, the Sixers actually have been worse over the past 10 games having only one win and shooting poorly. Tonight the Nets played no effective defense and the Sixers must have had one of their best shooting nights of the season. This was one of the only winnable games left. The only way the Nets get to 9 wins now is if a team just doesn’t come to play (like most of the wins this year).
I think the Nets are folding the tent and thinking about summer vacation.
The record will be ours.

You might be right, I may be crazy...
I still think this team will get 10 wins. Last nights loss was very tough to take. But this team has to put up a fight and get the 10 wins somehow. At least get 9.
I truly hope you are right, but last night: WTF?
..you know what I mean?

Another stellar performance by Lopez and Lee. They were swept by the Sixers for the first time in 33 years!! Just terrible!

good job CDR
sucks that mostly everyone else was struggling tho
NBA TV
ohh man did anyone see NBA TV right now… Kenny Smith and Eric Snow ripped the Nets… the sad part was i agreed with most of it…. but it still hurt
to recapitulate …. Kenny Smith said the Nets have to play better than they have already to avoid the record….he said that it comes down to three things: 1)Heart 2)Talent 3)Coaching .. in that order….. he says the Nets have not played this entire season with any heart .. also stated that Brook and Devin alone shuld have more than 7 wins…
i hope NI puts that clip on when he finds it….
it really stinks that this Franchise wants this record…. if they didnt. … they would have done something….
i hope Porky cleans house….. TOP TO BOTTOM

The problem is we don't have a leader to lead this team
It’s bad enough when our coach doesn’t know what he’s doing, but to also have the best player on your team fail to be an effective leader, it explains why we have the records that we have now.
We have a lot of young players whose lacking experience, so without an effective leader they will play bad, just like the way we are playing now.
Yeah I'd say that's b.s
early in the season maybe but I’d say the last few weeks they’ve looked like they were actually giving their all.

Yi's BB IQ...
So Yi has a low BB IQ? Really? What about the guys who played tonight? They looked like real geniuses out there…
Yi and some others on the team have low BB IQs.
His is the lowest.
Not a contradiction.

What's wrong with Lopez?
Something must be wrong ….
Brook
I was successfully able to call out loud if Brook would “shoot” or “pass.”
5 boards to go with that. GAH.
Guys
time to realise that you need Yi to bring your another win for the rest of the season, and Brook feel very uncomfortable without Yi’s presence.
Acutally...
It’s because Harris has been out the last 2 games that they’ve lost badly. Unfortunately, Harris is somehow our best player currently (it pains me to say it), and his absence can be felt.
With Harris back on Saturday, I’m going ahead to predict a win, regardless if Yi is there or not.
im not sure its that he's out best player so much as
he’s the point guard and without him the offense is lost. T-will is talented but he’s clearly still making rookie mistakes and not ready to run an NBA offense full time, and Dooling is solid in a limited role but ask him to start and he gets exposed.

3 more wins? Please?...
Wow. I thought they’d find a way to 10 for the season, but now I’m less confident.
Maybe they’ll pick up an upset somewhere—like Miami at season’s end if there’s nothing for the Heat to play for and they rest starters.
But here’s 3 possibilities…though none are probabilities…
3-24 vs. Sacramento (3-6 in March, traded away Martin; can Lopez/Harris match Hawes/Evans?)
3-27 @ Chicago (if injuries to Rose, Noah linger)
4-4 @ Washington (if Blatche is off or doesn’t play)
4-9 vs. Chicago (home game late in year fighting off record?…)
4-10 @ Indiana (if Granger is off or doesn’t play)
That’s about it and maybe a stretch on a couple.
