T-Will Moving Up in (Some) Rookie Rankings
Three weeks ago, Terrence Williams was buried in the ESPN Rookie Rankings, way down at #37--and falling. Now, his own personal March Madness has moved him up 20 places--and he's rising. He's averaging 14.1 points, 6.6 boards and 4.8 assists in 30.1 minutes per game this month. Moreover, he's won big kudoes from David Thorpe, who notes, "His huge hands enable him to make vicious attacks at the rim, and I really love watching him pass. He's not just an assist-getter; he's also excellent setting up another teammate to get an assist." Better yet, Thorpe credits T-Will with the Nets improved play of late.

How informative is this?
I don’t mean that disrespectfully at all, and I know I can simply not read it.
Just wondering: Is this ESPN rookie ranking is something fellow posters are concerned about?
I suppose it’s some kind of barometer of rookie progress..
It's also interesting to see how analysts look at rookie's play
since you can’t usually tell a rookies progression simply by looking at box scores, even watching games, since there’s so much for them to learn in their first year and a lot of their development is still projection.

err a lot of their value is still projection

I have watched the rookie ranking for years. It's fun when our rookie is in the top 20 or top 10. Meaningless, but fun.

And I think it is part of NetsDaily’s mission to find and to post any interesting tidbit that appears regarding the Nets, whether or not it’s especially important, or relavent. The rest is up to the readers.

We tend to err on the site of completeness
Our readers are a varied group. Some are season ticket holders who come here hourly for their fix.. Some are casual fans. Some are professionals, both in NBA font offices and sports marketing. Some live in China. Some live in Russia. By being complete, we aim to satisfy everyone.
I have been a season ticket holder junkie
But watching this team is like an addiction treatment, after games, I feel unsatisfied and sick to my stomach
What a flattering pic...
I like it, it sounds like David Thorpe actually watches Nets games. All his Twill comments ring true.
Especially the big hands thing. I haven’t seen a player do what Twill does since Dr. J.
Sure some people wave the ball around, but Terrence brings it full circle while the ball is at the end point of his hand when the pull of gravity is the most. Its really impressive.
Big hands
I recall twill making a leaping rebound with one hand, come down palming the ball and go right into his dribble. It was eye-opening.

Twill is teh credit for the nets improved play. He’s a great energy provider off the bench although he does make classic rookie mistakes due to his lack of NBA expierence
I hate to say I told u so…..but twill is a player and a testament to kiki’s drafting and player development. I have loved twill since pre draft and he hasn’t failed to impress. People got down on him early in the year but he’s a rookie on a historically bad team. He’s an important piece of the future

And everyone calling for kiki to be fired…..be careful what you wish for. I remember everyone wanting Frank to be fired for years. He was a very good coach. For those saying to fire Kiki….our best drafts were the past 2 years with Kiki at the helm. Lots of people passed on Brook. Lots passed on twill. Remember how upset people were about not taking Earl Clark? Has he even played this year?

Or just remember the what 7-8 drafts we had with Thorn at the helm
Outside of Martin and RJ and Nenad before his injury…can you even think of half those players names?

haha exactly!
Thorn admitting he was watching a lot of college basketball this year (more than in the past) means either we are in trouble or he was sleeping on the draft the past 8 years.
And the KMart draft there was really no other pick #1.
The RJ draft – was just that Houston really wanted Eddie Griffin and he needed players. Yet the Brandon Armstrong selection was a very bad move.
Oh and then when we sold Kyle Korver’s rights (maybe blame on Ratner) when we have always needed a dead eye outside shooter.
I’m worried we take some European with the third pick……………that would be a disaster!
