For Nets and Others, One-Stop Shop for Free Agents

It's getting harder to imagine a top-tier free agent wanting to join the Nets in 2010, but Rod Thorn (or whoever replaces him) knows there's only one place to call: CAA. The Hollywood agency reps LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. It also reps Devin Harris and Carmelo Anthony, meaning it could reshape the NBA. "When you have those type of players," Thorn tells Marc Spears, "that’s power in itself."

Thorn, you want to convince FAs you’re serious about winning: 1) Fire Kiki
2) Openly shop Yi
3) Hire JVG

Yeah, it’s really hard to imagine any FA’s coming to the Nets because of the talent we have on this team. And yeah, we have better talent than the Knicks but why do we always have to compare our team to the Knicks who is talent-wise worse than we are or should i say in the near future, after this season is over most of their biggest contributor right now will be gone. Try to compare our team to a young team like the Blazers and you guys will realize how poorly Thorn managed this team esp. Draft time.

Batum, Fernandez, Cunningham (who i really like), Pendergraph and more … Are a lot more talented than who we currently have except Lopez of course. It’s ashame how this guy ruined our future and he’s still being loved by many.

Fire Thorn!!!!!

Well, I guess we know who will determine whether the Nets trade Devin Harris and to which team, and it won’t be Rod Thorn.

This story reinforces my belief that there is a chance of Melo coming here in 2011 because Denver is just not a big enough market and their team is not good enough to make it to the Finals, but we probably have to give Kiki a job for another two years to allow for that. If Proky keeps Kiki on, it will be a further sign of this.

Nets had their chance to get Carmelo for Jefferson and a pick.
