Game 57 - Nets vs. Trail Blazers - Tuesday, February 23, 7:30

After playing the Thunder, Grizzlies and Blazers recently, the Nets should have a good idea of one model in the rebuilding catalog: go young. The Blazers are among the NBA's youngest teams but they're winning...in spite of the loss of their best player, Brandon Roy, for 12 games. He's coming off his best effort since returning from that absence (strained hamstring). Jarvis Hayes is doubtful, Yi Jianlian probable.

Booby Simmons is stuck on the Bench he had a good game early in the season 15p 7r 4a in 36 minutes vs. Orlando.Give Simmons, Battie, Hassell some minutes. I don’t care if we go small like last year, Simmons/Hayes at the 4 remember Net fans, while Yi was on the bench where he belongs. People they need to release are Boone,Yi,CDR Lee, Quinn
Lopez/Battie
Hayes/Humpries
Simmons/Williams
Harris/Hassell
Dooling/D-Leaguer

Going to the game. Was able to get two 500.00 tickets for 43.50…for the pair! Section 122 Row B That is just sad. But hey another good find for me. I have gone to a total of 7 games this year all courtside and all for yes than 400.00 in total so far. I swore I wouldn’t buy any more but you cant past up a savings of 957.00. I look at it as paying for dinner and getting a basketball game for free lol…..
GO NETS!

Just how cheap is this brain-dead Nets franchise? The Nets can’t use a rebounding moose?

Source: Dwayne Jones a possible option for eventual Wizards’ empty roster spot
by Scott Schroeder on Feb 22, 2010 5:07 PM EST
(…)
Most recently Jones led his Toros to a 109-108 victory while finishing with 26 points and 26 rebounds. (…) This was the seventh game of the season in which he had at least 20 rebounds, which is his bread and butter. Specifically, though, it’s his ability on the offensive boards that makes him stand out. While he won’t typically attempt to create his own shot, his 6.3 offensive boards per game is where the majority of his offensive output stems. He’s a capable finisher who isn’t afraid of contact, but Jones still doesn’t possess a terribly high skill level, nor does he create his own shot, so that’s about what you’re getting from him offensively – offensive putbacks. He also sticks to what he’s good – doesn’t force anything on the offensive end.
Defensively, he has great size – both height and bulk – and he’s very strong. His accolades are hard to quantify (1.9 blocks per game, 0.7 steals per game this season in the D-League), but according to Synergy, he does rank in the 95th percentile. He was also the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year while a senior year at St. Joseph’s on the Cinderella team that also featured Jameer Nelson and Delonte West.

Tonight will be my first game at the Meadowlands since the Newark move was announced. Hoping to soak up the games regardless of how bad this pathetic team is and cherish all the great memories I have had with family and friends in the “House that Bruce Built” – and NO I don’t mean Ratner.

Shouldn’t that read “any MORE D -League players on our team”?
The Nets are content with free falling into the abyss. That’s fine with me, because I am content with not giving them a dime of my hard earned money.

Does anyone want my tickets for tonight for free? I will email them to you

@Mr. Dollar Bills
I agree with you 100%.
I went to the Open Practice and got free tickets. I only went to that game because the tickets were free. I am content watching the games on YES. Yes…I am a former Season Ticket Holder. Yes I have many memories of the Brendan Byrne Arena, Continental Airlines Arena, and the Izod Center (whatever you want to call the swamp)
Do you guys remember the section 211/212 cheer? Hey we ripped off the J – E – T – S but I don’t care.
Enough of my ranting…Can we get win #6?

I will go to as many of the remaining games at the Meadowlands that I can and after that I will likely not be back. I do not plan on going to Newark unless they announce a permanent move to the Prudential Center. I will not be taking part in helping Ratner and now Prokorov with their rel estate venture any longer if it comes at the expense of the team playing in New Jersey.

so i guess this is your last season….cuz the Nets are def going to Newark .. and then to Brooklyn…
but sumthing tells me that you cant turn your back on the nets becuz you’re just addicted to them…. why else would you be on netsdaily all the time…
by blazin pp face on Feb 23, 2010 11:42 AM EST reply actions
at blazin:
you are right – I am addicted to them, which is probably why I check back here so often. And there is a chance I will see them play in Newark, although unless a permanent move is annouced there it would have to be through second-hand market tickets that wre already purchased. I am not putting any more money in Ratner or Prokorov’s pockets.
That being said, April 12 if I can make it to the Meadowlands that night will most likely be it for me unless there is a drastic turn of events.

Isacc;
Don’t make any rash decisions just yet. Take a time out and let some time pass. Pride comes before the fall. I personally found that out the hard way, many times.
