Citing Nets, Wade Says Things Can Always Be Worse

The Heat are playing mediocre ball. They're 24-24, in the eighth playoff spot. It's wearing on Dywane Wade, but he understands it could be worse. He could be with the 4-42 Nets. "When I was a little younger, I'd have been ready to explode," Wade said Tuesday. "But I look at Rafer (Alston) some times and I think, 'You know what? It can be worse.' I talk to (Chris) Quinny all the time. It's worse other places."

tell dwade to shut his mouth and win some games, he wishes he had a team like the nets with a high potenial and talent level

by BrS1 on Feb 2, 2010 9:42 PM EST reply actions

then again, you can’t blame him for saying that. The man is just putting stuff in perspective, he’s right.

wade is a hater

by Christian on Feb 2, 2010 9:46 PM EST reply actions

If it means comparing his mediocre, no talent team to the nets to make his little wimpy heart feel better, then he has every right to express his feelings. If he really believs the heat are so bad only the nets make them feel good about themselves, I personally feel bad for D. Wimp=]]]]

wimpy? If Wade was on your team, you wouldn’t call him wimpy. Wow, a bit subjective, “i”

by Gerard Himself on Feb 2, 2010 9:48 PM EST reply actions

I’m afraid a lot of people will react really negative to Wade’s comment. So far, everybody not named Gerard has done that. He’s not dissing the Nets, he’s telling the truth. .500 is better than .079. Or something.

yeah but hes not on our team so.. it

Uh…yea

by Antoine on Feb 2, 2010 10:05 PM EST reply actions

I don’t know why people act sensitively to when people outside of the team say the absolute truth

This team, and the organization, is abysmal.

Stop being homers for a second and understand that this franchise is a joke.

thank you mr. Dollar Bill. Exactly.

by Gerard Himself on Feb 2, 2010 10:07 PM EST reply actions

I don’t really think he meant to bash the nets. Doens’t matter what anyone says the team’s awful right now and everybody knows it.

Thanks Wade! See you next year in a NETS uniform! lol

by JustinNJ on Feb 2, 2010 10:10 PM EST reply actions

Dont worry Wade, help will be coming to Miami

by Antoine on Feb 2, 2010 10:12 PM EST reply actions

If he was on the nets they would be better than 24-24

by Kevin on Feb 2, 2010 10:16 PM EST reply actions

Actually, it’s worse to be the Heat. The Nets have a great shot at the #1 pick in the draft next year, a huge amount of cap space in a big free agent year, a great base of talent, a brand new incredibly wealthy owner ready to spend, and a brand new arena on the horizon in NYC.

The Heat are most likely going to end up getting a poor draft pick, and have to hope to lure someone in the free agency. Granted Miami is a desirable destination for free agents, but their roster does not say championship anywhere.

by eLone on Feb 2, 2010 10:18 PM EST reply actions

They have DWade. That’s championship material right there, and just one more big-time player which they have the space for and they’re good.

by Antoine on Feb 2, 2010 10:21 PM EST reply actions

give d-wade a break…kobe just hit a 30-ft game-winner in his face and lebron stole his stupid behind-the-back-pass for another game-winner against the heat… :)

by jirohkanzaki on Feb 2, 2010 11:52 PM EST reply actions

d-wade just got exposed as a 2nd class superstar beside kobe and lebron…

@Mr. Dollar Bill
If this franchise is such a joke, you must have quite the sense of humor to be here as often as you are. Some fans are loyal. If you want to call them homers, fine, but don’t dis them for their loyalty.

A max player should be able to lead their team to more than 24 wins. Then you aren’t a max player. He is getting old and broken.

by Russ on Feb 3, 2010 8:26 AM EST reply actions

@ elone:

“A great base of talent”??? What exactly are you basing that on? This team is probably going to break the NBA record for futility, and while it’s young players aren’t solely responsible for that achievement, they certainly have a LOT to do with it. (and last year’s terrible team too)

Rich owner, check. New arena, check. High draft pick, check. Great core of young talent? Still very much in the air, with early reports saying no, not really.

And to say it’s worse to be the Heat is just silly. They are much closer to winning a championship than we are simply because they have Wade. By your faulty logic the Nets are in better shape than 90% of the NBA. Come on.

by hoopsguy7 on Feb 3, 2010 8:37 AM EST reply actions

What did Wade say that was wrong other than things could be worse and used the Nets as an example? He’s right. The Nets have only won 4 games this season and that’s almost impossible to believe. This is a historically bad team.

by Supreme on Feb 3, 2010 9:47 AM EST reply actions

The Nets are not that bad. They have no coach, no owner and a lot of young players. What do you expect. I still like this club and it’s future, over a lot of other teams out there. If they had 15 wins, big deal…

Our time will come… Lets go Nets…
