Who Are the Likely D-League Call-Ups?

The Nets seem ready to audition a few D-Leaguers after the deadline. Who's likely to get the call? A D-League blog, Ridiculous Upside, ranks the top 10. Mike Harris, a 6'6" forward who's played twice with the Rockets, is their top choice. Most of the 10 are swingmen. Dwayne Jones, a 6'11" center, is the league's best big man. Not on the list, but he played for Mikhail Prokhorov at CSKA Moscow: Yaroslav Korelev.

The first thing they should do is change that stupid D-League name. How about the A-League, “A” for aspiring.

Sadly our potential acquisitions reflect our present record. Nothing remotely interesting

Does the “D” league have any power forwards who can rebound and play defense? Never mind…

Exactly the guys we should call up. Dwayne jones might be our best rebounder if we decide to call him up, and mike harris can deinitely help us score. Another guy is springfield armor’s own morris almond, who would help us with his outside shooting and scoring prowess

@muwu;
Sounds like we can have a brand new team for pennies. Lets do it! We might even win a couple of games.

Mike Harris put up astounding numbers in college, but he’s considered too short to be a legit PF, and isn’t mobile enough (or shoot well enough) to play SF.

I’d look at Mike Harris, Alexander Johnson, Dwayne Jones, and Reggie Williams. All are very good players and can add scoring and rebounding to the Nets.
Mike Harris can score and rebound and deserves a shot at small forward. He has NBA experience. He’s perhaps the D-League MVP.
Alexander Johnson also has NBA experience and has been tearing up D-League. He’s a prototypical power forward who could be better than Yi and Hump. He could thrive next to Brook Lopez.
Dwayne Jones is a rebounding machine who has improved his offense. Much better than Josh Boone. Jones also has some NBA experience.
Reggie Williams has always been a scoring machine, but he’s also a complete player. He’ll get you more than the 4 points Jarvis Hayes and Courtney Lee combined for last night.
With the salary cap, you need max guys like LeBron to be your superstar, but also guys like Mike Harris and Dwayne Jones who can play for just a little dough.
But no, keep Tony Battie and Bobby Simmons on the roster and don’t ever change.
