NBA To Open Russia Office, Work With Prokhorov

If anyone has any doubt the NBA Board of Governors will approve Mikhail Prokhorov, note this: the league is opening an office in Russia. "We are waiting for the Prokhorov deal to be completed because we want to work with him," Heidi Ueberroth, president of NBA International, told Sports Business Journal. Russia is an important market for several NBA sponsors and Prokhorov gives the league an opening.

So now Prokhorov won’t get approved until Spring. Before it was right after the Olympics in early March (which is still Winter). Obviously it is Proky’s choice to delay.
Now I know why Bosh was laughing at the Nets, because it seems Prokhorov has the belief he can turn things around at his desire. Bosh knows otherwise. Nets are about to blow an opportunity to make team better and also to have a winning coach to finish to season.
Maybe we can thank Daniel Goldstein for our misery as he is possibly the reason for Proky delaying plans continuosly.

Has there ever been a case in NYS where a major construction project got this far along only to be terminated on a last minute decision by a single lower court judge??
I mean even the US Supreme Court decided on our President in 2000 on the grounds that basically “the clock ran out” and there was a much stronger argument to reconsider at that time.
The only hope for Delay, Don’t Develop Brooklyn is to further delay – i.e. revenge. Already they are damaging the Nets present team and chances to be playing basketball in Brooklyn for the Playoffs of 2012.
Maybe Prokhorov could offer Goldstein an all paid trip to Siberia with long term accommodations for his family, with a guarantee of no man-made noise.

Be afraid, Jerry25, be very afraid. Atlantic Yards might be the only thing that sucks as badly as your team.
Did you ever stop to think Proky might be looking for excuses?

@Reality Check:
Yea right, after committing over $400 going on over 500 million, Proky wants out?
He is just doing smart business by letting Ratner finish the dirty work in the courts before he takes over. We will be hearing more from Vancouver.
I wouldn’t mess with Prokhorov. Remember what he said to the Russian Biathlon team as they left for Vancouver – “don’t come back without victory”.
Accidents do happen. Be afraid indeed.
