Thorn Parties With Jay-Z and LeBron

All-Star Weekend is a time for parties and before the game and before his big meetings, Rod Thorn was able to talk to two of the biggest names in next summer's free agency. On Saturday night, Thorn was at the annual "Two Kings Dinner & Afterparty" with Nets' investor Jay-Z and Nets' target LeBron James. Also on hand: Jason Kidd and Chris Paul.

Sounds to me like a Chump-free party. No wonder Kiki wasn’t invited.
Hollah!

In a Knicks commercial on MSG, they showed Jay-z at a Knicks game. They are trying to steal him from us and pretend like he is part of the Knicks organization. The only reason he was at the game was because it was against LeBron, which I don’t mind.

I guess what this means is that Jerry Jones is trying to get Chris Paul to play QB for the Cowboys

Were any other NBA team presidents at the party?

is it so farfetched to think that there is could be somethin really brewin between Proky, Lebron, Jay Z, n Thorn in the chance that Cleveland falls short again this year??
Here’s the thing. The Nets are cleaning house and could possibly build up the craziest media powerhouse of a sports franchise with the biggest name in Rap; one of the kings of all entertainment, the richest man in Russia, and the best basketball player in the world. Is it so farfetched to think that Lebron could understand that if he signed with the Nets, no one would hesitate to follow him and that he would be on the verge of being able to have a dynasty of team set up for him and also be in center of the media capital of the world?! I mean Proky can give this man whatever he wants in a team.
If the Nets could sign Lebron, everything else like a second Max free agent and the rest of the supporting pieces could fall into place for him and this team very easily with this owner we have.
maybe The Cavs will pick up Amare as thats the hot news right now and then completely ruin whatever team chemistry they had for the year, blowing up their championship chance again…
or maybe they’ll invest into a long term contract like Jamison’s and still fall short.
I really hope the Cavs lose this year so that the summer is spiced up even more.

@ NJQuestCat:
u forget to mention the importance of relationship that lebron has with john wall. bring in john wall and put together everything u just said and there is no doubt that lebron would come to the nets.

if something truly was brewin and David Stern were in on this too it’d be crazy they’d have to make another Ocean’s movie for this big executed plan
just imagine..
Oceans 25 starring:
Danny Ocean…Prokorov, Ivan Drago, Lebron James, Jerry Coangelo, David Stern, Coach K, Thorn, Jay Z, Brook Lopez, Chris Paul, John Wall, and the whole 09-10 Nets roster for the comic relief that these movies always have!
i’d go out to the movies to see the Nets transform from the biggest joke into the biggest success.

This game really drove home my point about championship teams and point guards… if you want to win a championship, you need someone like Lebron or Wade… or Kobe… and that means they are going to basically run the point. That eliminated the need for a PG. Jordan won with Ron Harper, Kobe with Derek Fisher. We need to forget about Harris AND wall, and just get a stud, and put someone at the point who can spot up and hit a 3 when we need it!

Tore…
i mean i’m just bein optimistic for fun because there’s not much fun goin on when i watch the Nets this year.
Realistically the Nets have a chance of doing something good with this owner we have. You gotta remember, this ain’t Ratner distributin pennies anymore
Pessimistically, nothin will happen for this team like you say. Well that just sucks and your outlook does too. Be a fan and be a little hopeful.

Prokhorov’s associates were also guests at Jay-Z’s party. Heard they sat with him for awhile. Looks like Jay-Z’s involvement could really start paying some dividends.

Could be that LeBron after winning a title for Cleveland will say: My mission here in Cleveland is done. I would like to move on with another project in a bigger media market and help rebuild the Nets.

The Nets should bring back JKIDD to mentor Rubio when they get him and then when JKIDD retires in about two years he should be the Nets next head coach……..
