Lee: It's About Chemistry

At least one Net has gone back to college during All-Star Break. Courtney Lee traveled to Western Kentucky. While there, Lee talked to the local press about the Nets' problems. In short, he said it's about chemistry. "There’s a lot of different faces so everybody had to get used to each other. Chemistry has to be built, so I’d had have to think that’s a big reason why." There's also a report WKU will retire his number.

Fire Thorn and Kiki and trade Chris Douglas-Roberts and then the chemistry will come back.

firing thorn has nothing to do with it and neither does trading CDR. As i recall, for many years, the nets had outstanding chemistry under thron and last season had chemistry with CDR. Your logic makes no sense whatsoever as far as chemistry is concerned.

C-LEE is right nets need to get some players that will help the youth like Bringing in Robin for Brook, Sun Yue for Yi, Shaun Livingston for Devin Harris, and so on.And trade the players who are not happy and lot part of the future (plans).Little moves like these give players confidence and want to show of their skills to the people they are close to.

jj,
Sun Yue and shaun livigston are both worthless right now in terms of play. yes, wd need chemistry but we also need talent.

by i on Feb 14, 2010 11:53 AM EST reply actions

I think the chemistry issue is much more about the franchise, front office and coaching mess then the players.

Even teams with superior talent need some structure, some direction to be successful. The constant uncertainty about where they will play, ownership, GM, direction of the team and of course a coaching means that you are asking a bunch of largely young, appearantly immature, hyper type A personality, always been the stud on and off the court, never experienced failure like now, new to each other players to figure it out for themselves.

They need some structure and consistency. Until the new owner is confirmed and he locks down his GM and coaching decisions we will continue to have chemistry problems.

@ i
Its’ not about if they have talent or not if there in the NBA they have talent but felt uncomfortable or never got the chance to show there talent Sun yue a frst round pick by the Lakers never showed his talent and is a starter on the china team Shaun Livingston 4th overall in the 2004 nba draft. This season is worthless. How do these players not have talent?

Plus -How much can they spend on these players 400k each!
et rid of the players you dont want and they dont want to be there.

@ Jet
Partially right, the players also got themselves into this mess.

^^this. There was little concern about the structure of the team or what would happen on the court going into the season, so what do you really expect?

This is the front office’s fault, simple and plain. No veteran leadership. No concern with coaching and developing the young players.

jj says:

LMAO! You want to trade Brook for Robin because he’s a minute older and you want to go with youth. Classic…

by essrog on Feb 14, 2010 1:23 PM EST reply actions

I think he means bringing in Robin to play ALONGSIDE Brook

by NetsFanForever on Feb 14, 2010 2:33 PM EST reply actions

essrog,
jj means that he wants to trade other players for robin so that him and brook can mesh and devlop team chemsitry… so

All of our good players were injured for so long. They fired LFRANK before anybody healed up. Say what you will about LFRANK, but he was a pretty good coach when we had players. Now we have KIKI, who has never coached, and a couple of nobodies on the bench. Chemistry needs coaching, otherwise, the inmates are running the asylum. Chemistry needs knowing what formula to use. We need a real coaching staff, with a real plan. With these players now healthy, and a real coaching staff, we could win more games. Really.
