Frank: "CDR Is An Unbelieveable Competitor"

In an interview with WFAN's Evan Roberts, Lawrence Frank gave his endorsement to Chris Douglas-Roberts, who he called "an unbelievable competitor", adding, "he worked his tail off. I was really, really proud of the accomplishment" he made as a second year player. In general, Frank added, "locker room issues were never a problem". He added that he hopes Mikhail Prokhorov retains the man who fired him.

I totally agree with LFrank. Remember CDR was scoring 17.5 with LFrank. He was complimented for his hard work in the offseason. He was one of the few to show fire and passion in the initial losing streak. What happened was YiKi and Del Harris were overly invested in Yi and tried to use their control over the team to show that Yi was the stud they always thought he could be. That was incredibly stupid. Not only were they wrong about Yi but they messed up CDR’s game.

Rehire Frank!

Kudos to Frank for saying this, because someone inside the Nets organization, more than likely the same dirtbag that undermined Frank himself, is playing some sick games.

CDR should hear this, shut his mouth, and keep working hard because it will pay off for him. You can’t feed off of negativity all of the time.

They say “you don’t know what you got til its gone”
LFrank was a good coach.
I was one of the people asking for Frank to be fired.
Noone knew KiKi would be this bad.
Frank wanted to win in NJ.
I’m sure KiKi told Del he could be coach.
KiKi won’t get a GM job ever again.
Frank could have had 10 wins easy by now.

I agree with LF. CDR is a terrific competitor and only wants the team to be competitive. If anyone in the Nets organization wants to buy out his contract they should have their head examined. Or maybe the current management logic is to continue to tread water and not be competitive. The Nets are definitely one of the most messed up teams in Sports history and this goes back to the days of the Greeks and Roman dynasty’s Bring on Jerry C and Mike K

Good coach.

I’m one of them who wanted him fired and I regret it. I thought kiki would do a better job because of all the talk about player development and letting the kids play and now it just backfired on everybody.

by 1milord on Feb 13, 2010 1:31 PM EST reply actions

Why is he still talking? I’m so glad he’s gone. Kiki is a horrible coach, but he still won 4 games more than Frank did.

Kudos to CDR. Your time is coming. Keep your head up.

He also said “Thanks Coach” when he was informed of the praise. CDR was quick to credit Frank for giving him a shot and believing in him.

Reading this stuff and hearing rumblings about Thorn sitting on his hands and letting kiki continue to drive the train even further off of the tracks and just disheartening. We need legitimate coaching him here for Lopez, Harris, Lee, Williams, Yi, and CDR.

Maybe having coaches that have babied Yi and given him everything on a plate has been counter productive. We need someone in here that will help Yi and challenge him to play harder and tougher. Knowing that you’ll be starting every night regardless of what you do is not a good thing.

Quote from the great Lawrence Frank “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”. We should have at least waited until the end of the season if we were going to let Frank go. Bad move now looking at it, maybe costly, I think nobody likes or respects Kiki, I think Keyon Dooling and Hoyer are the real coaches.

@djheavyduty

Anyone that pays attention knew Kiki would be this bad

@Jeff

Still no “I was wrong” for all of the Frank bashing you performed on this site

CDR, who at one point lead the team in scoring, was phased out in Kiki’s attempts to run the offense through Yikes. How’s that worked out?
