Yormarks Like a Challenge

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment

The Times profiles Brett and Michael Yormark, who run two of sports' most distressed franchises, the NBA Nets and the NHL Panthers.  They claim they like the challenge and in the words of the Times, "have become two of the most aggressive, innovative and sometimes controversial salesmen in sports".

The Times discusses the twins' successes, failures and controversies, including Brett's reversible jersey idea.  The piece contains both praise and criticism for the two, including comment from Daniel Goldstein, the millionaire critic of the Nets' Brooklyn arena.

Met both

Unimpressed personally.

And I work on behalf of billion dollar companies. I bet Brett wouldn’t even remember.

obviously

these guys are born rats, their business is a ratty business. I talked to Brett during the Thunder game, I asked him if he was really offended by the bags worn by those two guys last year, and his response verbatim was “it’s all bout entertainment”. Not sure what to make of that, but i got the feeling he didn’t really care about the team.

why make that big fuss

with the bags on the heads guys, and then act like it was no big deal. Again could have been a marketing ploy, but i just think the guy’s a snake. I know my two cents, and irrelevant.

I’m sure that’s what matters to them.

if you had worn a brown paper bag, he'd remember!

Outlaw is the new Yi - just with more money and longer contract without the 7.2 rebounds and occasional shooting streak.

I don't get why people dislike him

also he’s kind of old guy cute. He might be my favorite net at this point.

Comparing Cam Newton to other Heisman candidates is like watching the end of Jurassic Park. Sure the velociraptors had been running around causing trouble all movie, but at the end the T-Rex just comes stomping through the wall and annihilates them.- TIP

Say what you want about his tactics

But he is the best executive in the business

I am positive that offers have been made to him over the years to leave the Nets and run teams in the NBA and NFL
