Random Trade Ideas VI
The FanPosts are getting way too overloaded with random trade ideas that have no real basis in reality. So we're trying something new...
There will be one active (on the front page) FanPost for random trade ideas. Right now, this is it.
If you have new trade ideas, either add them as a comment here or post them as a new FanShot (not FanPost), with a link to the trade machine url for the trade.
FanPosts are for longer, more thought-out commentary, not for every trade idea that comes to your mind and has never been mentioned or reported in the media.

In light of these horrific Melo discussions and this horrific season, I thought I would post my ideal Nets scenario. In no way is this at all realistic, but I think a little positive thinking is good for all of us.
move #1) Trade Kris Humphries, Damion James, the LAL pick, and the GS pick to Memphis for OJ Mayo.
stand pat for the season
move #2) Draft Terrence Jones, SF, Kentucky, and JaJuan Johnson, PF/C, Purdue
move #3) Sign Andrei Kirilenko and Carl Landry
2011-12 lineup
PG: Devin Harris, Jordan Farmar
SG: OJ Mayo, Anthony Morrow
SF: Andrei Kirilenko, Terrence Jones
PF: Derrick Favors, Carl Landry (6th man)
C: Brook Lopez, JaJuan Johnson
I have to think this is a playoff team with a lot of youth and draft picks for potential for more. What are your thoughts on this scenario, and what's your own ideal scenario?

This is giving up too much for OJ Mayo. Memphis would be looking for cap relief.
They are better off trading Murphy’s expiring contract and holding onto Hump (who I really hope they resign to a longer term deal) and Damion James and keeping the draft picks.
Draft wise – I might be more likely to go Harrison Barnes over Terrence Jones – as Barnes is a great character guy and seems to have just gotten off to a slow start at UNC. The talent is there.
Barnes is not doing that well rite now
And i expected a lot from him, maybe he explodes and starts dominating soon….
I like Jones in the draft, and he is producing rite now.
As Long as
Harris is on this team we will not win.
Very Good Player. Average PG. Bad leader

I think that’s way too much for Mayo.

Of course he's a starter
Especially on this team.
He could become a free agent next summer. Phoenix has a team option to buy him out at the end of the season and save a lot of money (just $4M guaranteed… if they don’t buy him out, he’ll cost them $18M in 2011-12… I think it’s a sure bet they’ll buy him out).
I’d give him $5-6M per and 2-3 years.
I’d probably try to avoid all three but I’ll take whoever Melo wants. If you FORCED me to choose, I’d consider J Rich.

I think he’s got more hops left than VC. He’s younger than him. Their career shooting percentages are similar. That includes from behind the arc.

i love almost everything about this
just dont like kirelinko. that guys face creeps me out. but i do have a man crush on terrence jones and jujuan seems like he could make a impact on a team as long as he adds some bullk to his body.
