Power Rankings: Wins Don't Move the Needle
The Nets beat the Hawks and Grizzlies last week, but they remain stuck in the 24/25 slot in all the major power rankings. Call it waiting for 'Melo, writes Marc Stein.
A good performance vs. New Orleans would have helped. John Schuhmann writes, "The Nets' six-game stretch of good defense (94.4 points allowed per 100 possessions) came to a screeching halt in New Orleans on Wednesday." Both Schuhmann and Kurt Helin note the contributions of Sasha Vujacic in positive comments.
Of the two stats guys, John Hollinger and Jeff Sagarin, Hollilnger ranks the Nets higher at #23, with Sagarin putting them at #25.

They will beat Orlando.
Who cares what our power rankings are at the moment
Probably won’t be the same team by years end, this team is very flawed.
Not much.... we have to perform first.

Melo
I heard you guys think you can get Melo
What Melo want is to win, and the Nets are about 6 players + Melo from making that happen, Outlaw, Farmers, Humphries, Marrow would be bench warmers or DNP in any other team, if you trade Favour and Harris, you guys have Lopez (a no 4 on a good team, who do not defend or rebound) and Melo. This is a 30 win team
What Denver is trying to do is force Melo to choose between the Nets or sing the extension with Denver, a 16-10 teams, who is getting KMart back, and if this was the only choice Denver hopes to force Melo to sign their extention
Their other option are to call melo’s bluff; or
to try to win it these year
The Nets are really pawns to force Melo into signing with them and have no chance of getting Melo
u obviously have little to none basketball knowledge
Oh and great spelling btw;) farmer?marrow?favour? We don’t have any of those players… if you are talking about farmar* morrow* and favors* your way off base. Farmar was a solid peice of the bench for the championship lakers, morrow has a great stroke and would be a great 6th man, and favors isn’t there yet but has loads of potential. Ignorant post imo

Farmar was the backup point guard on 2 championship teams..
Have you seen Humphries play at all? He’s been reborn this season. Morrow is a sixth man at best.
Outlaw is a bench warmer though.
