Knicks Increasing Brooklyn Presence
Two weeks after dropping a billboard inside the Atlantic Yards footprint, the Knicks have added another, on Flatbush Avenue, just south of the Barclays Center construction site...and this one leaves no doubt the Nets' move to Brooklyn is the target.
The new billboard expands on the "You, Us, We, Now" theme. "You" is "The Republic of Brooklyn" while "Us" is "The Original Ball Team of the Empire State." Subtle? No.

MSG is still a big deal
Reebok even has a special edition of Wall’s shoes for his MSG debut.
Stitched in it:
“New York City is the ultimate stage: big city, bright lights, and everyone is watching. This is John Wall’s debut.”
MSG is still seen as the place where you really have to prove yourself as an NBA player
Never noticed this
Im going to laugh when i walk past the billboard everyday
"I love my Ducks (wait 'til you see my O)"
You, Us, We, need go to the clinic ASAP

Real fans don't convert
Even if the Nets move to Brooklyn, most will not convert to liking the Nets no matter what. Much of Brooklyn is already looked as Knicks terroritory and that was way before the idea of moving the Nets to Brooklyn came up. If much of the city didn’t root for the Nets when the made the NBA Finals back in 2002 and 2003, what make you think they will root for them after they come there? The Knicks were the reason the Nets left for NJ after their first year as an NBA franchise back in 1977, because they saw how much they couldn’t compete as a NY team whereas NJ was all open for them. BTW, there is hardly a fan base for the Nets in Brooklyn right now if you don’t count the paid supporters and bandwagoners that are pushing for this.
This Truly illistratesyour hate....
Not much actual truth in your post at all here.
Of course its Knicks Territory only ONE TEAM in the city. The city didn;t root for the Nets the same way the City didn’t root for the Devils when they won. Reason… THE NJ (NEW JERSEY) stitched onto the jerseys. New Yorkers typically root New York and even though you detest the idea BROOKLYN IS NEW YORK.
As for your second comment… So backwards its a shame. It’s the Knicks who feared the Nets presence. Through shady blackmail and threats they forced the Nets original venue to close thier dors to them forcing them out of New York and into Jersey… But O’ HAPPY DAY… WEEEE’RRREEEE BAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!!!
I’m a Queens NYC NETS FAN!!!
BRING AGENT ZERO To NEWARK/BROOKLYN!!! We Keep FAVORS/BROOK/DEVIN TOO! The JETS/NETS are coming!
Missed the point as usual
Reguardless to whatever cuased them to go back to NJ after their first season as an NBA franchise, the Nets were seen as the black sheep no matter what. Despite winning championships in the ABA, they went unnoticed by many outside their immidiate area. If you said “How about them Nets?” at that time in the city, most wouldn’t have a clue what you were talking about it. Coincidentally, their championships were around the same time the Knciks won their’s, so they were overshadowed by that anyway. Keep in mind that the Knicks have been around longer than the Nets and they date all the way back to the NBA’s first season back in 1946, so they already made their mark in NYC. I find it interesting that you admit that NYC wasn’t so happy for the Devils winning the Stanley Cup compared to the Giants winning the Superbowl all because one calls themselves a NY team, while the other one doesn’t. Then again, I never saw the reason for the Devils to market themselves as a NY team when they don’t play there to begin with. However, you still miss my point, because it was claiming that if they will root for the team after they move to Brooklyn, where were they then when the Nets made the NBA Finals when they were still a NJ team? The answer was probably nowhere to be found, therefore, they will just be those bandwagon fans. For the record, I was a fan of the Nets before they made back-to-back NBA Finals appearences, so I am no bandwagoner. My point is that if most of Brooklyn or any part of the city isn’t rooting for the Nets right now, what makes you think that they will convert to them the second they move there? That is something you haven’t answered. If any are rooting for the Nets right now, they are a minority right now, while most will not give up on the Knicks no matter how many losing seasons they have. On a side note, don’t bring up the Mets, because until 1998, they have never faced the Yankees, and MLB has a very different format to the NBA in which one team only plays all the teams of their own league with a few from the other, but not every team in both, which is the case for the NBA, so those claims are irrelevant, and this is comming from an actual Mets fan.
