Prokhorov Watched Goldstein Condo Go Down Saturday
As Daniel Goldstein's condominium went down Saturday, a group of 12 people led by Mikhail Prokhorov watched quietly from a nearby vantage point. The condo was the last building in the footprint of Barclays Center.
With its demolition, Nets officials say construction at the site will now accelerate. The $900 million arena remains on time and on budget for a mid-2012 completion.
After spending about 20 minutes looking at the site and the construction plans, Prokhorov and the group went to lunch at the nearby Peter Luger steakhouse, where they dined on porterhouse, creamed spinach and cheesecake for dessert. There must have been some champagne too.

I wonder what Prokys thinking...
“Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done”…?
You've gone a million miles... How far'd you get
To that place where you can't remember... And you can't forget
Prokhy is thinking:
“When this barn is built and I trade Favors for Melo I can sell Nets to Chinese tenfold for what I bought”
LOL
A nervous LOL…

Good thinking. Cavs sold 15% stakes to Chinese before LBJ jumped ship
Outlaw is the new Yi - just with more money and longer contract without the 7.2 rebounds and occasional shooting streak.
They did NOT
that deal never went through because the Chinese investors couldnt come up with the cash.
Ratner might even try to outbid the Chinese

Ratner has NO interest in the Nets
and not much interest in the arena, which he is willing to let Prokhorov have. He is interested in the residential and office space.
Now you are getting it
The Nets were nothing more than an trojan horse for Ratner to push another of his mega complexes that would fail in the long run. If he really did care about the Nets, then the arena wouldn’t have been a small percentage of the project. It’s unfortunate that you waited until now to realize that when I knew that from the start. Another thing about caring about the Nets is that he would think of the current fan base rather than snubbing them in claiming that they are expendable and a new one will just take over after the move to Brooklyn.
it's over, Tal
critics lost. Net officials ignore you. Media ignore you. Politicians ignore you. History ignores you.
No it's not NI
There were probably naysayers just like you in the days of Jane Jacobs who told here to stop her fight against the LOMEX. because most of the city’s process was against her. Did she just agree and give up, or did she keep fighting? It turnned out she stayed in the fight and won. Even those that left their homes, especially DG himself, are still fighting this project. I don’t care how many times, just as long as it takes to win, which is what the Pryics when fighting the Romans belived in or even Napeleon Bonaparte when fighting the Russians. If it will take a Pyrhic victory to stop this, then so be it, because a victory is a victory no matter how it is achieved. Don’t give that claim everyone will forget the oppostion, because that’s so false especially when there are still those talking about the demolition of the station house for Penn Station for MSG on the City Room when that was more than 40 years ago before most of us were even born.
holy crap
that would be insane if that were true

Thank you, Goldstein...
Because of you delaying the project and costing Ratner so much, we got Proky. And you got your price. It’s a Win-Win-Win.

Cut the slander already
Just imagine how would any of you feel if this was your property and others wanted you out. Would you feel the same way he feels durring his fight, or would you just accept whatever is given and leave? Try taking a walk in his shoes before you judge him. Nevertheless, those who really know what went on still see him as a hero after his 7 year holdout. Remember, he stayed there long after everyone else who lived in the same building he did left. Meanwhile, Bertha Lewis, a real sell out, recently mentioned that ACORN had just filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. She can’t even pay back the loans that Ratner gave to her group right now. Honestly, it was Ratner that was keeping the group on life support. On a side note, ever since supporting the Atlantic Yards, ACORN has actually turnned their backs on many other fights in the city for both REAL affordable housing and rents. I can even remember some saying in those other fights on the absense of ACORN from them as if they now only fight for who pays them the most.
Glad this is finally over with
Let’s build!!!!!!

No surprise there
Everytime we hear where Proky has been eating, it’s always at some place that is too high for most of us to go to.
cue the Monty Burns sound clip as Prokhorov slowly taps his finger tips together...
