Nets Home for Holiday, Give Thanks

One benefit of the Nets' move from the Izod to the Prudential Center comes today as the Nets gather for Thanksgiving dinner in New Jersey. For 24 straight Thanksgivings, the team were on the road. The Meadowlands arena, call it Brendan Byrne, Continental Airlines or Izod, was home this week to an ice show.

So, for Nets' "lifers", like Gary Sussman, Tom Barrise and Rich Dalatri, Thanksgiving normally meant a team dinner in a hotel or in recent years, if they were lucky, in a player or former players' home. This year, it's home for the holidays. The team also got an opportunity to share the spirit, spending a day this week distributing Thanksgiving dinners to 200 of Newark's neediest.

Did you read in Colin's article (at bottom) that Favors agreed to spend this evening at Avery's house ..

But no word on the other rookies, DJames and Uzoh.

Hope they all agree. DJames is being given another chance to prove himself. He needs to buy into what Avery wants, including Dinner at Avery’s.

specifically it says

Johnson said he invited the team’s three rookies – Derrick Favors, Damion James and Ben Uzoh – to his house for Thanksgiving Dinner. As of yesterday, only Favors had committed to coming over.

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for NETS improvement this year. Athough we are not that good yet at least we have five wins already and the loses were not lopsided, in fact we did even have a chance to win if NETS have enogh experience and a real star to carry them. Everyone is new and we are geting there. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
