Nets Waive Eddie Gill
The Nets announced Wednesday afternoon that they have waived point guard Eddie Gill, who did not play in Tuesday's win over the Sixers and played just three minutes in Sunday's win over Maccabi Haifa. The move cuts the Nets' roster down to 16, with Stephen Graham, Ben Uzoh and Brian Zoubek holding non-guaranteed contracts.
Gill has had eight tryouts or short stays with the Nets since 2000.

Avery gave us a heads up, by not playing him yesterday.
Wonder if he will be back in the D-League?
Is there another cut coming before the trip to Russia/China?
We get to see him every September
See you in September, as that oldie lyric goes.
Nets = Global
Knicks = Local
Zoubek is next up on the chopping block
As for Gill, well, the tribe has spoken.

i like gill…why he cant find another nba team beats me.

buy out ross and keep Stephen Graham, Ben Uzoh and Brian Zoubek!
not happening though

Ross isn't a very good defender he's ok I think his defense is overrated he's skinny
But he’s never going to play Graham is ahead of him in the depth chart.
Could be a NBA record for how many times one player was cut by the same team.
Maybe more times than Billy Martin was fired by George Steinbrenner.
I think Gill just does it for the check
the dude has tried out god knows how many times. Doesn’t he get like 50 grand for just trying out?

I agree with Andy
Buy Ross out theres no need for him, having a big 7 footer with 6 fouls is always good, look at how many physical bigs the Celtics have more 7 footers the better.
Nets would alway be able to bring up Zoubek from the D League.
Ross may be needed for his 1 million salary in a certain trade later on.
And Nets are weak at SG, while Graham is more of a straight SF.
I want to see Graham play
I agree with Atronic about having another big, but i am interested in what Graham can bring to the floor. Lopez, Favors, Murphy, Petro, and The Hump are enough bigs and we can always slide Favors/Murph into the C spot if need be.
Uzoh should not be cut. I don’t care if he’s glued to the pine all season I think that he has some potential.

Yeah always good to have a big dude like Graham on your side at the wing position
We were pretty soft and small there past few years him James and T-will, and even Uzoh who’s still growing have good size.
exactly my thinking
i have to see him play though before I say that he should be kept over Zoubek for sure.
Having an athletic big body that can defend(well, from what i’ve heard) on the perimeter is a must. We’ll see.

Avery seems to like Graham and we don't know the details of his contract.
Nets are certainly loaded at SF, but I have a feeling he stays.
Atronic
great point about Uzoh’s height. Another reason that I want to see what he can become, he’s 6’4-6’5 right?

uzoh is big…not much shorter than twill

we could use his range at the two
in case of injuries to either Williams or Morrow.

Be a backup point WHEN Devin is hurt...
And that is likely. He can back up Farmar. He will play D shoot the 3 and not turn ot over too much. He should have been a late first round pick. Uzoh will be a STEAL. Gotta have A-Mo for the Uzi(oh)!
The JETS/NETS are coming!
Knicks are losing to Minny by 9 as Q4 is about to begin, on NBATV, from Paris.
Even losses by Knicks are important to us this preseason.
Lots of payback coming this year.

Knicks lose to Minny. Who still thinks they will make the playoffs?
Here is the Box score.

There defense looked horrible
They don’t have to many players with meat on their bones, Randolph is to skinny to play PF Darko was backing him don like he was a lil kid
WOW... Nice stats for Wes Johnson......
Minny will be good this year….Every team that Ridnour plays on does very well….And when he leaves they do poorly….I wish that we picked him up…..
This is why I think just like my Jets with Mark Brunell
Joe Smith should be given a clipboard and get paid to be an assistant coach, I have a feeling he’s going to have knee swelling all season long, let him mentor Favors on the bench.
And Clear up that Roster spot for Zoubek...
See What he has to offer. Coach K guys usually have at least 1 very good NBA level skill. (See Boozer, Magette, Reddick etc.)
The JETS/NETS are coming!
Damn not looking good for Bynum
Lakers coach Phil Jackson says he could limit Andrew Bynum’s minutes significantly if he is bothered by a knee injury for the four straight season.
Los Angeles could turn him essentially into a role player over the long-term if it will preserve his health.
well thank heavens we didn't trade kidd for that guy

I think we will keep all the players that we have now......
Harris will be on the injured list all season long……
