What a well coached a well game. Was very smart with his player substitutions and had the best lineup in at the end of the game (based on what Detroit was showing us). He kept the team poised and under control and ran plays that brought the nets back in the 4th quarter. And although Favors played well in the first half, I'm happy and impressed with AJ for not forcing him minutes in the 2nd half when the game was on the line. Johnson realizes that Favors needs to be brought in slowly and although Favors played a great game, Johnson was right not to have him in during the 2nd half of the 4th.
He also made excellent corrections at halftime.
The last few minutes of a game coaching is critical and Avery Johnson showed me last night that he can handle it. Hopefully is continues.
