What the Nets must do offensively with this roster

Stay connected for news and updates

Ok, I have watched the Rockets games a few times, trying to see where the breakdowns are.  This is what I can best tell based on observations:

Our offense is hurt because the types of shots and comfort levels of those taking them.  We have TWill and Devin negated because they are not great shooters and their most damage can be done going to the hole.

Why are they negated?  Because when they go to the hole, they are driving right into the heart of the defense.  Brook Lopez is drawning a crowd down low.  There is no respect for the outside shooting for the Nets (nor the ability for TWill and Harris to find them once penetrating) and this is clogging the lane beyond belief.

We need to put Lopez in the high post.  He can pass, he can pick and pop, and he can work in from the high post when it is there.   This will free the lane for Harris and TWill. It will also allow Favors to roam the low post for dump offs and putbacks and will utilize his attributes to their fullest right now.

Brook scoring 20ppg with his back to the basket in the low post doesnt seem to do much for the team in terms of sets and ball movement.  I do believe this will work best for this personnel.

When Troy Murphy is in the game, Brook can go back to the low post and can play some 2 man with Troy in the set.

If Brook goes to the high post, this offense will open up.  Favors will get more possessions for this team, and we will be scoring more points from the line.
