To my surprise, I found out on NBA TV that Erik Spoelstra, coach of the Miami Heat (for now at least) is hafl Filipino (mother). Upon further inspection, I can see the Filipino blood:

Whether that's enough for Filipino Nets fans to root for Lebron and company is an individual decision, but if Miami does have success this year, I hope he gets some credit. I also really hope that Pat Reilly doesn't swoop down and stealthe job from this young (39) up nd coming coach. The NBA tv special showed his trip to the Phillipines and his work for NBA Fit. Good for him and those of Filipino heritage.
On a side note, another intresting half Filipino:
None other than San fran's Tim Lincecum. Tried to find a picture that made him remotely look Asian but his mother is indeed Filipino. Good luck Tim vrs Philly.
Other interesting partial Asian's in sports. Johnny Damon is part Thai. Rex Walters, former Nets #1 draft piack in 93 (#16 ahead of Sam Cassell of note) is half Japanese. The chair that guarded Yi was half chinese too.
For those Filipino's and Nets fans that knew the above info, I leave you with this. The first Pinoy NBAer was....

Raymond Townsend (mother is Filipina), drafted by the GSW in 78.
