Players Ho-Hum About In-Flight Gambling Ban

Devin Harris says he reads. Chris Douglas-Roberts says he listens to music and doesn't gamble, period. Jarvis Hayes says the same. Trenton Hassell admits to video games. Bobby Simmons? Too cheap. As for Brook Lopez, anyone who pronounces Harrah's as "Hur-rahs" isn't likely to be a gambler. So the Nets' in-flight gambling ban is a non-issue. We do wonder how dice player Rafer Alston would have reacted.

Um, Rafer wouldn’t have been able to get a game if he was on the Nets since none of the other players supposedly gamble.
Hey, Rod…win some games

Rafer has amazing powers of persuasion. He got the Nets to buy him out.

True…I guess some of our younger guys could have fallen victim to his peer pressure if pressed.

Maybe Yi is a big-time gambler? Him and Josh Boone drawing guns on each other after a poker game gone bad?

Rafer agreed to forfeit a million dollars to be released from his contract. Thats the type of persuasion the Nets will give into every time. My guess is if Simmons, Hassell, or Battie agreed to the same, they would be bought out also. The Nets would probably throw in a complimentary Ipod in Simmons’s case.

I wonder what Sean Williams does. Is he a gambler? a gamer? coloring books?
